We are building a house in the Merida area and like to stay near downtown when we go down there. We found that the Mision Hotel is our favorite for the following reasons. 1) it has the best pool, large enough to swim around in, most are small splash pools. 2) the breakfasts are really good 3) close enough to central, but not so close that there is a ton of noise 3) rooms are comfortable for and more than adequate. If you want the old Spanish look with windows etc.. you will either pay more or may have to deal with plaster falling onto your bed. Thank you Pablo for all of your advice and help, thank you Laura at front desk for excellent service and quick and timely checkouts (no confusion), also special thanks to Kevin for your service and insights into Mexico in general. Great staff, this is our go to hotel we have stayed at four other hotels, some more expensive and others less expensive. The less expensive are too noisy (groups of kids in pool), the more expensive had more interesting rooms (maybe 30% - 40% more expensive), but we were out and about site seeing and appreciated the nice clean room. We had great service, and spent time in the pool when it got hot. We enjoyed a massage and facials too.

The hotel is housed in a wonderful building and the staff were excellent throughout our stay! The room was spacious and clean and there was on site parking. Perfect for a stay in Mérida and walking distance to all amenities!

This was our first time to this hotel and we plan to return. It has so many features for your stay, private small bar, amazing veranda, wonderful salt water pool, spa for those needed massages, pool tables, fantastic restaurant with courtyard seating along with space for meetings and large groups. The lobby really sets the mood, marble floors and large columns throughout. The room was very nice, though not the highest end, the beds were great. The bathrooms were clean, as with the rest of the room. There is an in-room safe should you need it, and plenty of open spaces to just relax. I don't know the soap they use for the towels, but it really is so pleasant and adds to the overall experience. It really is the little things.

Room tip: Our room faced the pool, which is the North end of the hotel away from roads and parking.
