Very good location. Our room was spacious with two double beds, table, chairs, and a very large window we could see a big part of the city. The room did not have mini bar but had free wi-fi.
In the bathroom the amenities and the size of the towels could have been better.Very helpful in the reception. In the restaurant the choices for dinner were few but the breakfast included a wide variety of food and desserts.

We spent one night in Merida on an excursion to the ruins at Uxmal through Royal Resorts (they own this hotel) and it was a letdown from the 5 star treatment at the Royal Haciendas in Playa del Carmen. It had the feel of a business hotel, the rooms are average and dated, and could use a good deep clean and or/renovation. They come with in room coffee pots and bottled water, but you are charged for the actual coffee and water so be careful. Our window wouldn't close all of the way unless the air conditioner was on (it pushed on the window and kept it sealed) so we could hear the street noise outside. One of the other travelers in our group couldn't get the lock on their room to latch completely, a little concerning. RR claims this is a 5 star hotel, but they have some work to do to reach that designation! Our breakfast was included and it was really good. The buffet is huge with a lot of variety and well prepared food. Overall, just an OK experience....

The room had great views of Merida. There was a sort of serving hatch with a wash basin and fancy mirror, plus a full bathroom with another washbasin. His and Hers! It worked quite well. No mini bar. The coffee machine was good but you had to pay for the coffee for two and they only provided creamer for one. The gym was well equipped, the pool was nice but was in the shade nearly all day so we were the only people who used it. The breakfast room was very large and the menu covered just about every type of food you would want on a buffet - and a few more such as roast potatoes, spicy pork, chilli sauce and guacomole (for breakfast!)
They would make fried eggs and omelettes to order. Would have liked the option of toast. We did not eat there at night as there were loads of lovely restaurants nearby - some with live music and open courtyard, some with chilled out music and good air conditioning. The tour on the Guar Guar bus was fantastic and a good way to experience Merida. The hotel was easy walking distance from the main square and other attractions. Downside - although were on a no smoking floor - the smoking floor was one floor above us and the smell drifted down. Lifts were very small and very hot, and you had to wait a while if the hotel was busy. Overall good and would go there again,

I was attending a conference being held at this hotel in Merida and my wife and I spent 4 nights here. The room we had was pretty sad and crying out for renovation and a damn good cleaning. About the only positive comment I can make is that the room came with free WiFi, but that is it. The windows of our 7th floor room were broken and did not close properly letting in the 40C heat necessitating continuous running of the air-conditioner which mercifully enough worked (it didn’t for a colleague staying in another room) but was very loud and kept us awake at night. The shower was miserable with no water pressure and black mould everywhere. The tables, sink tops and fittings were dirty and appeared to have not be cleaned regularly. Despite there being a space for it, there was no bar fridge, perhaps it had been stolen by a previous guest. With dozens of TV stations on the TV, there was not a single one that broadcast in English. In the lobby of the hotel the Mens public toilets were a disgrace and like the room, did not appear to be cleaned regularly and on top of this the urinals did not flush properly which was very disconcerting and unhygienic. Fortunately, as an invited speaker at the conference I did not have to pay for this accommodation so not sure what the prices are like. However, if you are looking for a hotel in Merida, do your self a favour, and avoid this one.

This was a time share exchange and had everything we wanted except a peaceful night!
Room, staff, location, food and services were excellent.
However noisy music at night was disturbing but it might just have been because we were on the first floor.

I stayed here a total of 3 weeks in December 2012 and January 2013 in between side trips to the coast for scuba diving and to Cancun. These were exchanges through Interval and these were better than most I have gotten over the last 20 years and I exchange a lot. The hotel is in a great location, you can walk anywhere anytime and be safer than most places in the states. The hotel is very clean, rooms large, plenty of hot water for me at all times. Kinda of basic but I spent most of my time out anyway. Wish they would wash the windows though. The gym is clean and enough stuff to have a good workout. The pool is also very clean and warm enough even in December and January for me (of course being from Montana helps). The staff is extremely competent, friendly and helpful at all times.
The buffets and regular menus are all very good and varied enough for anyone. Overall no complaints and I would return without any hesitation.

We just returned from a week at this hotel, exchanging it for a two-bedroom unit. It was hard to find info about the unit in advance, so I hope this helps others. We liked the location, only a short walk to the square, good restaurants and shops--but if you don't like old, historic parts of town (we do), this may not be a good match. The hotel has a cavernous "tour bus" feel but staff is friendly. We never ate in the restaurants. The pool is attractive but not heated in winter and too cold for us. The time share units, we were told, are on the first two floors. We had daily maid service except on Sundays so the place was kept clean. Bathroom amenities were minimal. Our units were generously sized but minimally appointed with bare floors, one picture on white walls, poor lighting especially in the living room and little seating. We realized the living room was so empty (one small couch and no comfy chairs) so that you could pull down a queen sized Murphy bed (which means the unit can comfortably sleep six). About the "kitchen"- small fridge, a microwave and sink. So tiny that we didn't even plan on breakfast in the room...not even cups or mugs. Unfortunate slow and intermittent (but free) wi fi. On the lower floors, you are very close to the nearby clubs and especially on weekends, the party noise is very loud (prompting us to sometimes keep the windows closed and the air conditioning on--although the big windows otherwise produced nice breezes). We were glad to have the experience in Merida and we may not have come here without the time share exchange, but our standards were compromised in this hotel.
