“Deserves its name !”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Surrounded by historical sites, the plaza is a comfortable and informal place to gather and I saw lots of Mexicans relaxing, lovers kissing (first time I see that in 23 years of traveling around the Riviera Maya) and young people surfing on the Net as , YES!,the garden of this plaza has Wi-fi!

The park is full of people strolling or sitting on benches and talking. It gives you a personal feel and sense of community. Mérida's oldest buildings, beautiful in their scale and composition, surround the square. And you will find pigeons everywhere which is very romantic !

“A Must See in Merida”

Merida is not a city of tourists, and that's what makes it special. The Plaza Grande is a great place for people watching and for experiencing Mexico as it really is...

“Watch the world go by!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

There is no better place to watch people and just enjoy life! It would be easy to spend all day in and around this 'park'. Lots of place to sit and always people to watch. Close to everything.
