Huge cathedral with a great history. We walked in while a mass was in session. This made being in the cathedral even more meaningful. The ceiling has many vaulted arches, and despite being ransacked, the altar has a huge crucifix.

This historic cathedral in the centre of Merida has a special enchantment about it. Very simple outside, inside still simple but very interesting, with a wonderful wooden cross, one of the largest I have ever seen. Well worth a visit.

This place deserves a visit...even if just for a few minutes..don't miss it. It does not look like much from the outside, but the inside is pleasant surprise.

Worth a visit every time I am in town. The foundation is built with the stones from the Mayan temples the conquerer found when he came 471 years ago

We went to the Cathedral at the night. It was during the Christmas Season, so the streets nearby are light up with Christmas lights and decoration. The park right in front of the Cathedral has event going on and seems to be a famous hang-out place. Was not able to get into the Cathedral, but we got to see the art exhibition right next to the cathedral. The building is light up from outside and it gives that antique and solemn feeling.
