Can't beat Zocalo for location - right on the main historical square with lots of great sights, bars and restaurants nearby.
Our private double room was a disappointment - downstairs near the laundry and people could see in (room 15) as they walked down the at night when we had the light on (despite the young guy assuring us this wasn't the case when I expressed my concern on check in). Also as the room has only this mosquito netting for the upper half of the exterior wall, noise travels a lot - people in the night and early morning, you hear it all. Hot water is also hit and miss - sometimes you get warm water, others its just cold.
The hostel is beautiful and the breakfast was really good with lots of fresh fruit, cereal and omelettes. Maybe get a room upstairs in the main floor and you'd have a better time of it!
