Excellent fish. Fresh and flavorful. We had two entrees, three beers, one bottle of water and paid $230 (pesos, not dollars). Charming, English-speaking service. Preparation time is about 30 minutes. There were a couple of ants on our table, waiting for the food. Other than that, everything was fine. You go there for the food, not the ambiance. By the way, some fo the taxi drivers don't know the place, because it's off the beaten path. Just assure them that there is a restaurant on Calle 45, indeed, between Calle 64 and 66, and it's worth the trouble.

I eat here fairly often because it is not far from where I stay. I think it is on Calle 45 or 47 (not Calle 47A) between 66 and 64 in Centro. You can walk it easily from the Plaza Principle. They have a sign with the name on the front. This is not a romantic restaurant. It is a mom and pop type of restaurant which sells seafood and more seafood. It is not big restaurant and the decor is plain, but the seafood is so fresh that you expect it to jump off the plate. This is not a tourist restaurant ,and they don't speak much English, but you can figure out the menu if you know the basic names of the different kinds of seafood. Grandma is cooking in the kitchen; the granddaughter serves (at least when I am there). They give you the option to have your fish fried or not fried. They have about five or six different stuffed fillets; they have shrimp, octopus, or in reality, any kind of fish caught in the area. You can get a drink in that they have a full service bar. Because everything is cooked as ordered - in other words, nothing is precooked, it takes a while to get your food. I generally sit and have a drink and then when I order another drink, my food starts to arrive. The shrimp soup is very good, the shrimp cocktail is vey good, the salads are fresh if not exactly what we get in the states (not a lot of lettuce), but the real star is the seafood main course. My husband always gets the coconut shrimp. I think you should always get a stuffed fillet in that it is cooked to perfection. I vary the type of stuffed fillet because they have so many different kinds. I tried a fried stuffed fillet one time and it was good, but not as good as the baked fillet. The beauty of this place is that they know how to cook the fillet to the exact time. One minute less and the fillet would be undercooked; one minute more, and well is just wouldn't be as good. The prices are moderate and include a tip. I generally leave a small amount on the table above and beyond the amount of the charge.
