Casa Sirena was recommended by my sister as she had stayed there in 2006. She thought it was a place we would like and it was a nice place. That would be the understatement of the year! From the moment we walked in the door, we couldn't help but love the place and Steve made us feel right at home and throughout our stay there was the most gracious and helpful host. The breakfast provided every morning was excellent and provided the guest the opportunity to get to know the other guests staying there. Happy hour every evening again was another time guests mingled and shared the day's activities and could give recommendations on what they thought was something others shouldn't miss, different places to eat, etc. Also can't say enough about the staff Steve has employed. The rooms were spotless and the towel art was a topic of conversation every day. Each day a different form of art which always led to pictures being taken. If you are thinking about going to Isla Mujeres for a holiday, staying at Casa Sirena is a must do! Your vacation time will be unforgettable!

Thanks, Steve

Dwight and Sheryl

Frankly, before arriving we were a little bit suspicious about 100+ five star reviews on TripAdvisor, but from the moment we got there all our fears vanished...it is really a charming old house in quiet street of Isla Mujeres city, it is really impeccably clean, Steve really rocks and is a perfect host, as well as his friends Princess and Daniel, there is really a Happy Hour (or several hours, actually) each evening with free Margaritas, aged Tequillas etc. On Playa Norte the sea is really turqoise, and the sand white...it's all true!

By far the best Mexican vacation to date. (have been to many destinations in Mexico). Steve (owner/operator) has perfected the B&B idea. Great accomodations with comfort and hospitality abounding. Happy Hour at 6pm every night on the roof top bar is the greatest way to make sure all guests have a chance to make new friends, try new drinks, laugh and tell stories.
Staff is incredible in all they do, and they do it all. Fantastic breakfast on the patio each morning, very fun 'towel art' each day on your bed. (lobster design was my favorite) Very convenient location on island and Steve knows and shares his knowledge of all the right vendors and restauranteurs so you are guaranteed a wonderful experience! Very convenient to travel around Cancun, Tulum, Playa, etc. Althought island can make you never want to leave while there. Can't say enough good things and will definately go back... my tan is fading already so must go back!

The ferry from Cancun delivered my husband and me from the madness of perpetual spring break to the peace and beauty of Isla Mujeres in less than 1/2 hour. Casa Sirena was an easy walk from the ferry up a quiet side street. What a wonderful place! White-washed walls and dark wood, lovely tile floors.

The owner, Steve greeted us warmly and gave a host's tour of a property he is clearly proud of. Lot's of attention to detail for both comfort and style. Our room, #1 has a king-sized comfy bed with great sheets, AC, ceiling fan, great bathroom with open shower and a balcony.

Steve hosts cocktails for his guests at 6 pm each evening which you shouldn't miss. Locals stop by, and Steve whips up everything from Margaritas to...what were those delicious things again? Every night he makes a different treat to eat and gives his best advice for enjoying the island. Throw away any other map. Steve's map includes everything and everywhere you'll want to see - don't miss his friends Mal and Sally at the Soggy Peso!

We stayed a few days in Casa Sirena on our trip around the Yucatan peninsula, and felt really welcome the moment we stepped in the front door. The atmosphere is completely different from all other hotels we have experienced before; it's like coming to stay at a friend's home. The hotel is beautiful and the small number of rooms makes everything feel intimate. The location is optimal being just 2-3 blocks from the ferry dock, and the top floor open space and terrace have a terrific view over the town.

I loved this place. Seriously, Steve and Danielle are two of the nicest and most helpful hosts you could ask for not to mention a blast to hang out with. I really appreciated their constant attention to detail and interest in making our time the most enjoyable experience possible.

Note: This is a bed and breakfast. It is not a big hotel. It feels like you are in someone's beautiful home on the island (but of course private gorgeous spacious rooms). If this is what you are looking for, then Casa Sirena does it in spades. I was there with a group of friends and we booked the whole place for a few days. It was one of the best vacations I've ever had. Steve and Danielle throw happy hours on the roof, they make awesome food, and KILLER margharitas!!!!

My wife and I spent four nights at this hotel in late December 2008. I think that it is the best hotel in Isla Mujeres independent of price. Steve is a great host, ensures that everything goes smoothly, and even serves as a batender during a happy hour every evening on the rooftop balcony with a great view of Cancun and the Caribbean Sea. We even were invited to Steve's Christmas Eve party in the hotel with a free dinner and drinks. Each of the six room has a great layout with unique art pieces. The breakfasts were the best we had in Isla (we stayed another week in a house we rented with our friends and ate at a number of restaurants). The hotel is right in town with easy access to all restaurants and shops. I think the hotel is best for couples or an individual since it would be hard to accomodate young children. If you want a small hotel with great value, an environment where you meet other guests at breakfast and during happy hours, and an overall comfortable visit, you can't go wrong with Casa Sirena. I rate it a 5+ on a scale of 5.
