My boyfriend and I just returned from our stay at Casa Sirena. We have never been so glad to be home from vacation. I want to start by saying the interior of this building is nicely done and kept clean. With that said if you enjoy vacationing in the slums then this is the place to go. Our view from our room overlooked a roof of rubble run down housing and over that you could see the beautiful blue seas. We stayed here based on reviews we read by past guests. I'm not sure where these guests are used to vacationing but it certainly didn't meet our expectations. As far as the innkeeper, Steve we found him to be very condescending. When first arriving we were welcomed by the maid who did give us a cold wash cloth (very nice) Once we got into our room Steve came up to go over the rules. We were told twice verbally and once on his sheet that if the keys are lost a $100 charge would be incurred. A little excessive we thought. We were also told not to remove his linens or towels. We can afford our own linens and found this to be insulting. We are both professionals and have travelled extensively. We have never wanted to go home so bad as we did on this trip.
