we stayed at Ixchtel hotel and this little spot was right there on the street. For days we walked right by it and the owner was always friendly, but not pushy...we decided to give it a try for dinner. We are a family of 4. We had a great table on the street. We had guacamole and chips, lime soup, empanadas, chicken tacos, and fish...it was all DELICIOUS! Staff were friendly and attentive and spoke great English. This little place is a must try. It was reasonably priced (cheaper than other spots we had been to) and huge portions. They even gave us free dessert. It was worth NOT walking to Hidalgo street! I will tell others to eat here!

After eating at many of the island restaurants on Hildago we happened upon this little restaurant on the way to the beach. It is owned and operated by a local family who catch the fish, do all the cooking, and provide the best service on the island. Our daughter, 2 young grandchildren, and 4 others were with us....unanimous it was our favorite! We went back 2 times. The food was delicious. My daughter wanted lobster (which I usually find bland & rubbery)! It was fresh, flavorful, and not rubbery. The civechy was delicious. The red snapper was caught that day and well prepared! Margaritas were the best I had. My 5 year old grandson loved his hamburger and fries:). To top it off...we were given complimentary flan made by the family's grandmother. To die for! Went back with 6 other friends....all loved it. The tuna they ordered was cooked to perfection. Take your friend, they will be impressed.

Small family run business that does it right! Super friendly and great food and service! We had lunch here several times as it is located very close to Playa Norte. Dinner was an event! Before we ordered they brought out the raw uncooked presentation of the specials (shrimp kabobs, whole snapper and lobster). You could pick out which lobster and snapper you wanted cooked. Two of us had snapper, one had lobster and one had shrimp kabobs. All were perfectly cooked and tasted delicious! Two of us had beers and two had margaritas. The margs were perfect and the beers came with a little something extra! Beer koozies! The first and only place that does this!
After a great meal we were presented with a free slice of flan! Then to top off a great evening we danced to salsa music that was playing on their sound system. I mean the owner, cook, waiters and momma were all dancing in the street. How great is that?

We stumbled on to this gem walking to playa Norte. Small place with indoor seating and on the street. The owners and workers are so genuine and we had the most wonderful experience speaking with them. Their food was fresh and consistently good and that is hard to find on the island. Highly recommend this little gem.

Five of us walked there for supper the other night and they have only three tables that were full but not a problem. They found a table and brought chairs from a house next door. Three had lobster tails and two had conch. The lobster was fantastic. The conch I am not sure as I have never had conch before but it was very tasty and tender but the edges were like octopus, a little chewy. Saying that I still ate my plate clean.
