“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

A little Cuban restaurant on the lagoon channel. They had our favorite guacamole from the entire trip and REAL mojitos. As in muddled by hand, real. We all loved our dishes, even the kids. Had great music playing and they loved it when the customers would share in a slow dance or two. Very friendly, attentive service. Small little place in the back, almost a key west style cottage, but better. Can't wait to go back!

“Great place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This is a not a fancy place that you'd dress up for but the food is fabulous. We had the fish dish for four and the presentation was very nice and it was delicious. We ate early as we thought we had to get reservations but not necessary and you can bring your own wine. The wait staff was a little off that night and we really didn't know if we were welcome but the food was great.

“Neat little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

Saw this by water first and thought it was a great place we had to try. The food was excellent but very spendy by my standards - Have to say it is the only conch I have ever eaten that I have liked (or not minded). Okay service - very nice people - very cute spot.

“Hard to find, but worth it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

El Veradero can be hard to find, but it is a gem. On our recent visit to Isla, we stopped in at el Veradero twice. On our first visit, the kitchen wasn't open for the day yet, so we enjoyed a couple of hours on the patio sipping mojitos and watching the boat traffic come and go. It was a beautiful afternoon, and the breeze on the channel was just enough to keep us cool. On our second visit a few days later, we went a little bit later in the afternoon, so that we could be sure to order a late lunch. My husband ordered the pork chunks, which are slow roasted and smell and taste amazing. I had the shrimp and fish ceviche which was also very good. More mojitos and sun made for a perfect way to spend the day people watching. The Mojitos and Cuba Libres are very authentic.
