“Kids loved it!”

Tortugranja (Turtle Farm)
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Nothing elegant about it, almost ramshackled, but it turned out to be the best $3 investment of the trip. Could not pull the kids away. They enjoyed the experience and a friendly caretaker gave them a few hands-on thrills.

This was a $3 entry fee for the visit.
It is small and doesn't take long, but where else can you hold 3 day old baby turtles!
They are doing a great thing here for the preservation of these turtles so support it and have a little fun in the process.

After driving around on our golf cart, we decided to stop here after a recommendation from a friend. Great stop! They had Gorgeous turtles and tons of new baby turtles separated in bin by one day, three days, and five days old. Despite the sign saying don't touch the turtles, the attendant let me hold a few! He even took out a sea urchin for us to hold! Excellent stop!

Set back from the road, not far from the Villa Rolandi, sits the unmarked Turtle Farm. It was raining here today and I was seeking some sheltered activities. Maybe I went on an off day but it was 6 tanks with turtles. No man, a few posters on the wall about Lion Fish, although I didn't c any. Was by poor looking. Looked like it really needed an infusion of cash. Wound up sharing a taxi with the women who collected my $3.00 to get in. They also were complaint about the Mosquitos

The wife and I we're a little leery of stopping here, but for $3, why not. We were actually surprised. Lot's of turtles and other sea life to be found here. Sharks, lobsters, different fish species and of course thousands of baby turtles. Must see place to take your kids!
