Worth a visit if you are already on this part of the island. I don't know that I would make a special trip for it.

This place has been around for years.
Its wonderful the work this people does for the protection of the turtles.
The entry used to be on donations but now its a small fee which goes towards the center.
You will see different tanks with turtles from babies to large sizes and different species, then take a walk on the jetty where you can see turtles ready to be released.
There is a souvenir shop inside again the money there goes towards the center.
Well worth the visit.

Great place to see turtles up close but sad to see such beautiful creatures kept captive. Several different kinds and different ages of turtles inside the building, then larger ones in the pin outside next to the dock.

Although I have been visiting Isla Mujeres for a number of years, I had never stopped at the tortugranja. What a great experience for 30 pesos. They have different tanks with different sizes of sea turtles. There are also aquariums that have a huge lobster in it and others with different fish. Outside, you can feed the sea turtles and sea gulls :( There is also an area where the rescuers have taken eggs before poachers can get them. The "H" on the sign stands for how many eggs a specific female has laid (up to 160!). This place is also handicap accessible.

We first visited 14 years ago. Really not much has changed. The provide a basic set of turtle ponds and tanks. Each has turtles at various stages of development. The guides are informative. The REAL IMPORTANCE is to support their efforts on conservation and species survival. They have "saved" many nests annually. They must have had 30 or 40 relocated nests they were now monitoring on site. That'll be 100s of baby turtles released that otherwise likely would not have made it. It costs $3.00 US.

Fun destination for the family, the kids loved all the variety of turtles. Definitely worth the $3 entrance fee. Best to rent a golf cart as it is not in walking distance from the ferry port.

This a great endeavor to save sea turtles. While, the sanitary is not very large, there is great representation in the holding tanks the various endangered sea turtles.

This is one of the coolest places to see on the island if you love you some sea turtles. Mostly they range from tiny babies to adults depending on the time of year you go. They also have a variety of other fish in tanks as well

this place surely doesn't comply with the appropriate standards - the turtles are kept in tiny pools, without any space to swim properly. There's nobody supervising the place, various people just touch the turtles when it clearly states on the signs that you shouldn't. I'd really wouldn't go back as this isn't what it claims to be
