“I was a little disappointed”

Tortugranja (Turtle Farm)

You pay $3 to get in to see a bunch of turtles in swimming pools going around and around. Not sure if they will set them free as I did not read about it alot. Didn't like the way there were handled for tourist taking pictures.

If you're going to be in Isla Mujeres for even just a few hours it's a good idea to stop by the turtle farm. Admission is 30 pesos or 3USD per person (at the time of this writing it was cheaper to go in pesos vs. USD). From our understanding the money goes towards the upkeep of the farm. The Tortugranja is pretty much in the middle of the island maybe closer to punta sur. We hired a cab for an hour and we were able to get through this place in under half an hour and be able to visit the rest of the island easily. One can spend at most an hour here unless of course they are doing a release which probably is an exciting time to see the little ones venture out to the sea. The place also has a few other sea life and there are nurse sharks just outside the exhibit.

It only cost about $3.00 to get in, and you basically got what you paid for. It was pretty cool to be able to see the turtles, and take some pictures.

Just down the road from the Villa Rolandi road, the turtle farm is a tiny oasis of cute turtles of all sizes. No, it's not a huge "Epcot - extgravaganza-LOL". Just a nice place to see the cute little fellas paddling around in their tanks as they mature. Also an outside pen for the larger turtles along with some fish tanks with seahorses, various crustations, lionfish, etc. Lots of photo opportunities. Worth the visit for us. Afterall $3 is almost "free"!

It is amazing to see this. To see the Sea Turtles from eggs to adult is so much fun. They also have other sea life that is extraordinary. To see an octupus up close and other sea life that you probably have never even known to exist. Some they let you hold in your hand. So much fun. Children are really awe inspired by all of this. This is a great place to go as a family. We have been there many times. And see new things everytime.
