My husband and I had visited VLB on our first trip to Isla a year ago June. Curtis was there and showed us the ocean front Palapa Room and the Honeymoon Suite. Ever since going home, I have been looking forward to staying in the Palapa Room. We returned to Isla October 9 and had "Palapa One" for the first two nights. What a view! Very romantic. We moved downstairs for the final two nights and loved that room, as well.

Our favorite thing about VLB was Curtis' breakfasts. We were lucky to hit on a day (Sunday) when he did his chicken enchiladas and they were awesome. Monday is continental breakfast, Tuesday we had some scrambeled eggs with seasoned vegetables and bacon - fantastic - and Wednesday we had pancakes with maple syrup - terrific. We had fruit every day - the honey dew that Ashley had picked out melted in our mouths. Monday was my birthday and my husband had emailed Curtis and Ashley to ask for help in planning a private dinner on the beach. They recommended Sergio's Playa Sol and my husband made the arrangements. When we got their, our waiter asked, "Are you from Curtis?" We had a private tent with plants and tiki torches, tix n chix, grilled shrimp kabobs, sangria, our own waiter and the sound of the waves. It was the best birthday dinner I've ever had.

Curtis, Ashley and the staff (Nevado, Jorge and Manuel) were attentive and friendly. We felt totally welcomed and at ease. It was just like staying at the home of some very good friends; comfortable. We cannot wait to go back. We checked out the new King Jacuzzi Suites at Playa Media Luna, but I am not looking to move as long as Curtis and Ashley will let us come back to VLB. Next time we'll try the Honeymoon Suite . . .
