I stayed at the Avalon Reef Club 12/1/12-12/6/12. This is my third time staying here. I booked the villa suite in advance and the views were spectacular - windward side of the island from the patio and leeward side of the island from the front door. All employees were very nice and accommodating. Instead of traveling solo this time, I went with a couple of friends who stayed in a different villa. My room was kept clean and the food at the hotel was excellent - ordered room service, dined at breakfast buffet and ordered snacks while snorkeling at their beautiful beach...best turquoise water this side of Bora Bora! Of course, there are many fabulous restaurants within walking distance. The only negative would be that the phones in the rooms did not work. Not much of a problem for me as I am active & fit, could walk to hotel for requests, walk downstairs from my second story villa, etc., however in the event of an emergency it was concerning because it was approximately 400 steps to the hotel from my villa to have asked for help. Luckily, this was not needed. The front desk staff said the room phones were out for 1-2 weeks. In addition, I was pleased that wi-fi was offered for free in the lobby for my laptop and worked well...when it was working (a change from my stay last year with a charge of $15 per day). Very discouraging to walk all the way many times and find it not working. With all the walking, I actually lost weight on this trip! The snorkeling was fabulous as usual and overall a very enjoyable stay.
