We loved Isla Mujeres and also loved the location of this hotel, on its own island linked to the main one by a wooden bridge. We found a very good rate online and paid less than $88 a night for each rooms. The hotel is a bit tired but has so much potential in my opinion.
Pros: On its secluded island so very quiet, yet minutes away from the great bars and restaurants of Isla Mujeres. Nice little beach, chairs were always available and employees often offered to install a parasol. Beds are hard but comfy. Good shower pressure, lots of hot water. Each room has a powerful AC unit. Clean. Enough tv channels to find something to watch
Cons: My room on the oceanside had this constant humming (louder than the waves even), the ones on the island side didn't. I met my neighbors and they reported hearing the same thing. The internet is $15 a day. Unthinkable to charge so much when it's free at almost all bars and restaurants. Just throw it in Avalon.... it costs so little in reality and it's becoming so important for many. Rooms were perfect for us in single occupancy but may be small for two people with tons of stuff. Very very basic rooms (for example: no bedside lamp).More
