“One of the best bars on Isla”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Stopped with friends and had a blast. Everyone is like an old friend coming back after a long absence. Be warned. Margaritas are over the top strong. Limit yourself to 2 or pay the price. Freddy and YoYo are the bartenders and make the atmosphere great.

“A bit of home”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

The Soggy Peso is the quintessential island dive bar. Momentos from visitors adorn just about every inch. Hats, banners, license plates and other miscellany create a classic decor. While you are waiting for your michelada, peruse the stuff looking for your favorite college team or town. They cook up a single special every day, and it talking with the regulars, they are all really good. It's east of downtown, on the water with it's own dock. Gringos fill the small space to watch college and pro football on TV. I think Jimmy Buffet would be happy to sip a beer for bit.

“rib nite was great”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

The night we dined was rib night. I am not a big rib fan, but they were great. We got the combination plate - baby back ribs, chicken & sausage. All were awesome chicken & ribs falling off of the bone, seasoned fantastic. The meat had a great smoke, seasoned flavor & not COVERED in BBQ sauce. The plate also included jalapeño, cornbread, butter, potato salad & corn relish. The bar was fun & they had some great tasting wine, which was a pleasant surprise. Very small place but it was full of mostly Americans. Definitely would do again. This is an very casual & all adult place ... no kids.

“My favorite!”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

This is a wonderful relaxed bar with great food! This is the place to get in touch with your inner Buffett. Bring a baseball cap to leave on the celing to capture your expereince. The drinks are great, but the margaritas are stronger than you expect. If you decide to try the margarita, plan on a taxi home. The crowd is mostly ex-pats living in Isla and they welcome tourists. You will improve your vacation by multiple stops at Soggy Peso! I recommend lobster taco night, although the shrimp tacos are a close second.
