More of a beach bum bar.... Limited menu with fabulous drinks and a swimming pool!
The first visit was with our local friends from Cancun Husband, wife, 1 child, 3 young adults, my self and good friends (couple) from USA. Lobster tacos and short ribs were being served that evening. See photo of tacos. We felt the Margaritas we had here were the best we had experienced (for the price especially) over the 3 decades we have gone to Cancun & Isla. Liked the atmosphere and Margaritas so much we stopped back later in the week to re-enjoy the atmosphere and swim in the pool (see photo)

Went on Monday for LOBSTER TACOS! We had two orders (4 tacos each). The lobster was fried, very tender, and the side of sauce had just enough kick. Great Bloody Mary's, & cold beer! 2 Lobster Taco orders, 2 bloody marys, 3 beers 340pesos.

What a strong and well priced margarita, in a styrofoam cup.
That's where the good review ends.
Place is proud to be dirty and unkempt, how "trashy cool" *rolleyes* how unique! People leave their baseball caps and they hang it on the ceiling. How coyote ugly... And contrived.

Did not get a friendly greeting, rather a lot of stares and silence why we were there. Didn't take us long to realize why. We're not 50 year old American expats trying to be "ironic" and banter at the bar over budweisers.

Pass...

You might think you are walking into someones' backyard when you visit the Soggy Peso. In fact, you are! Some expats built a a good size Palapa or Tiki Bar in their back yard. The bar is really nice and plenty of friendly Norte americanos come to enjoy the atmosphere and the food. They prepare one item daily, and that's what you go for. On Sunday, it's baby back ribs that literally drip off the bone and taste fantastic. You can get some chicken and sausage too. We missed out on the lobster tacos on Monday, but heard many people talk about how good they were. Be forewarned though, they close early (7PM I think) Try and go at least once!
