We are back home in Wisconsin after a short one week stay in Isla. We booked Nautibeach again (our home away from home) from Oct 26 until Nov 2. Two days of heavy rain to greet us, but the last 5 days were sunny and hot in the upper 80's. I love this Norte beach condo.

Dined at Limons in the Colonial district for the first time. 40 peso cab ride from Playa Norte and well worth it. The owner, Sergio, is a young, handsome, elegant man form Mexico City. The restaurant itself is the lower level of his home and he greeted us at the door. We dined on his patio where he grilled the tuna I ordered. My wife, Ginny, had the house specialty "Lobster Sergio”. Both incredible dishes. After dinner, Sergio sat with us and we discussed our culinary thoughts and he explained and finally surrendered his recipe for the Hibiscus sauce he drizzled on my grilled tuna dish. Don't miss this opportunity if you get it. The menu varies in price featuring tacos to lobster. Best dinner I had on the Island.

This place is situated outside "downtown", but it's well worth to take a taxi (very cheap) to have dinner!
The owner is there and cooking by himself and the menu is variated and the food is good! We had grilled meet and even if it was not the best ever, it was ok. Have a table in the garden!

It was our first time at Limon and we can't say enough about how much we liked it. The main thing to recommend here is Sergio, the owner. He's a charming host and thoughtful chef. Based on recommendations at TripAdvisor, we tried the hibiscus tacos. While the dish could have benefitted from a little more acid to lighten the flavor, it was damn good. We started with the tuna tartar - super flavorful and fresh- then had the zucchini tower.

While it's not the cheapest on the island, it's location is great, especially for folks wanting more options on the south side of the island. (We also love La Bruja.).

Buena suerte con el Limón, Sergio.

I was pleasantly surprised with the deliciousness of the Hibiscus Tacos! One of THE BEST entrées I've enjoyed in the last year. Bravo Sergio!
