“Great Service and seabass was awesome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

My family had dinner here and my wife and I both got the seabass and loved it. They have a nice menu with not a lot on it. There are so many places that make everything under the sun, so it is nice to see a small menu. Reasonable prices and friendly people. Lola was going around chatting with everyone too.

“Contemporary Mexican w/great ambience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

Have eaten here before and recall it being rich. Went for brunch on this trip and had a delightful poblano-potato-black bean hash with poached eggs, with a genius glass of hibiscus ginger iced tea. Suggestion: ask them for a little of their poblano cream sauce on the side. Tasty.

“Definitely worth going again and again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014 via mobile

The restaurant is owned and operated by Laurie. The food, service and attitude of the staff is a hidden gem in Isla Mujeres They are open only for breakfast and dinner. We ate there both for 4 days. A must is the surf and turf Bloody Mary. DELISH.

“Best restaurant experience in a long time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

During our 7 day visit to Isla Mujeres we went to Lola's for 3 times for dinner and once for breakfast. No doubt this was our favourite restaurant. All the food we ordered was absolutely delicious. It was a complete meal for the senses. It is impossible to decide what was our favourite dish. The fish "taco" with a layering of rice and guacomole over two huge pieces of plantain was divine; the coconut shrimp with pineapple chipotle sauce was amazing upon the first taste; seabass with tamarind papaya salsa was superb; and where else would we be able to enjoy the dark chocolate empanadas! Sadly, it was only on our last day of our trip did we have breakfast at Lola's. The coconut french toast was amazing and is a must (I shall be telling friends about this breakfast for a long time) . The restaurant atmosphere is lovely as it is both casual and romantic. Lola is very attentive and greets every patron with a joyous smile. We love her food as much as her great personality which is simply a reflection of her passion. Btw, their dinner menu is brilliantly and beautifully displayed on a giant billboard which allows people to casually glance at it from a distance without being accosted and invaded by servers who are needing to coax you into coming to their restaurant. In fact, we initially went to Lola's because it didn't have these annoying hecklers. Finally, Lola's is exceptionally reasonable for the value of fine dining. Based on the quality of all of the meals we enjoyed at Lola's we would be paying a lot more back in Toronto. So now, all I can do is preen over their menu until our next vacation to Isla Mujeres.

“Best restaurant on Isla Mujeres”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

I've been to Isla Mujeres several times now, and finally found Lola's! It was by far the best food and restaurant experience I have had on Isla Mujeres, and even Cancun, and it ranks up there with best meals I've ever had. The servers were attentive, courteous, positive, bilingual, upbeat, and knowledgeable. Lola herself came by the table mid dinner to make sure everything was to our liking. She is super nice, and you can tell her staff respects her and like working there. That respect alone contributes to a 'vibe' that makes a place enjoyable.

And the food...wow. My date and I each had a fish dish. Both were impeccably presented, and the taste was superb. I cant wait to go back tonight, and tomorrow again to try other dishes, or maybe the same ones again!
