Captain Tony Garcia's Guadalupana Tour Boat
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Had a great combo trip to swim with whale sharks, go to Contoy and then snorkel on our way back to Isla Mujeres. Tony was a great guy, friendly, fun and courteous. He provided necessary snorkeling gear drinks (water, soda and beer) and lunch on Contoy. Met some really nice people on the trip.

Hands down the best decision we made on our trip was choosing captain tony.
He is extremely friendly and speaks english well. His tour provides more than the other boats, the value is incredible.
You start at 8am and get back at 4 pm. You get to swim with the whale sharks, then head to island contoy (beautiful small island with very few people, and an amazing beach) where tony and his brother make a delicious lunch. Afterwards we went snorkeling in a shallow reef full of coral and fish, and there wasn't another boat in sight!
Taking a trip with captain tony is a must.

This man should be Mexico's man of the year, He is so outgoing, he made our wedding and honeymoon amazing. He picked up from Ixchel, (room 709 is amazing!!!) and he took us to see whale sharks, my wife and I were amazed at how careful and considerate he is of his passengers, and his guests on his boat. Waters were a little rough, but he navigated them with ease, and made us feel comfortable. Anyone who misses out on him, well missed out on Isla. Make sure and spend some time with him on Isla!

We booked Captain Tony's boat for a private trip in July to see the whale sharks and manta rays. We left Isla Mujeres at 8:30 am and stayed with the whale sharks/mantas all morning and then went to the National Park Isla Contoy where we had lunch and spent some time visiting the island and enjoying the beautiful water. After Isla Contoy we snorked over near the lighthouse on Isla Mujeres. Everybody loved the trip! Captain Tony was so nice to everyone and he worked very hard to make the trip enjoyable for everyone on the boat. We had two kids (ages 9 and 11) along on the trip and a couple of inexperienced snorkelers. So I can say that this trip is for everyone despite your age or experience. The food was delicious. Chicken and fish cooked on a outdoor grill including fruit, chips and salsa, guacamole, beer and soft drinks. There was always plenty of fresh bottled water available on the boat. The best part about Tony is that you can tell he's a really nice guy and he cares about his customers and wants everyone to have a good time. What a great way to spend a very special day! Thanks Tony for your kindness and care to everyone on our boat!

A group of us chartered a private boat on Isla Mujeres with Capt. Tony Garcia, to see and swim with whale sharks. These animals are so large, but graceful and gentle! They glide right at you with huge mouth agape, but are totally non-threatening. Once you get used to their behavior it is quire fun. A plus was the presence of large manta rays at the same location. Again, gentle and non-threatening.

Be advised the trip to the sight is long, ~1.5 hrs, and if you are prone to seasickness, take medication before hand. The tours leave early, so plan to arrive the night before. The site can be quite crowed with tour boats. Only 2-3 swimmers from each boat are allowed in the water at one time, but you have several opportunities of 15-20 min each to swim with them.

On the way back we stopped at Isla Contoy for a great picnic lunch and a little beach time. Finally back at Isla Mujeres we ended the day with a bit of snorkeling. Great Day!
