Owner description: Isla Mujeres Museum Capitan Dulche. This Museum is dedicated in loving memory of Captain Ernesto Dulche Escalante, founder or the 5th Naval Region (Isla Mujeres). Captain Dulche´s Maritime Museum treasures a big part of Isla Mujeres history, this is documented in a great photo collection of over 150 that have never been seen before. The Museum also contains an excellent collection of anchors, buoys, chains and lanterns, maritime tools and two projection rooms, showing one video of the famous mexican diver Ramon Bravo and the even more famous Jacques Cousteau. It also has the largest collection of model ships and metates in the whole mexican caribbean.

“Great Addition to Isla Mujeres”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

We love the Isla and are very interested in it's history. To think that such an important man as Ramon Bravo lived right there. The Museum told us alot and not in a boring way. The presentation is very much like one would find in the the USA. The videos are top of the line. Had drinks and snacks , very good, the view is spectacular. Staff very helpful and the bathrooms clean and very modern. Great place to spend the day. Would consider for a BIG party or a wedding. Grounds are lovely as is the beach, A must see while on the Isla.

“Beautiful place and location”
Reviewed August 29, 2011

Went yesterday for the first time with a friend from Isla and with my cousin from Israel, we found the place to be beautiful with many interesting things, we did not go to the museum nor did we have lunch there but next week for sure we will try the resturant and then I will let you go the place again is beautiful and the bathrooms are to die for sorry but that is very important specially here in Isla.
