This location is more about the views than the ruins. The ruins look more like a big pile of rocks. It is about the time you arrive at the ruins that you realize that this place has all kinds of walk ways that make the small fee of $3 seem like a bargin. Once again we could have spend the better part of a day here just taking in the sites. This is not the friendly beaches that you might be looking for but is more of the rocky cliffs that you might imagine parts of England looking like. You really can see the force the ocean has. also you will find 100s of iguanas scampering around the rocks as you go. Overall I wish we had more time to explore this area longer. Makes the price to rent a golf cart seem like a bargain just to get to this location

We started one morning with a walk about. They charge a small entrance fee for the pathway to the tip. Some may feel it's a bit corny but we enjoyed the mehandering pathways along the coast line and the overall feel of the place. It was our first morning in Mexico with a true feeling of relaxing and the day started pefectly for me and my wife with a walk hand in hand appreciating each other, the sounds, the wind, the smell, the birds and the sun and nothing else better to do than enjoy the moment .

The ruins are pretty disappointing, but Punta Sur was well worth it for the incredible ocean walk and the drive up gives you a chance to explore the southern and more residential side of the island. Sip a cold coconut while you meander the ocean walk and enjoy iguana spotting.

The breathtaking views and ocean sounds you will experience along the beautiful winding pathway are well worth the 30 peso entrance fee! Don't miss it!
