We stayed at La Joya for one night, and we definitely want to go back. The entire complex is very picturesque. The rooms are unique, and all look toward the ocean. We had one with a private terrace, and we also enjoyed the pool and deck area. They have stairs down to the ocean/small beach area for snorkeling. The views were spectacular, especially at sunset. They also served an excellent breakfast, and the staff was very friendly. Great hotel!

Room Tip: There are a variety of options, so it just depends what you want. Note, the sign is not super visible from the road.

The hotel was beautiful and quiet. It was just what we wanted for a nice getaway from the stress of life. The room was just right, view was awesome and the staff were just a few steps away if anything was needed. We can't wait to return to La Joya and Isla!

We came here for 5 nights and 6 days after our wedding at a 5* luxury resort in Cancun area. We loved it and that it was intimate and cozy. It was a very romantic hotel with beautiful views and peace and quiet. The staff were helpful and kind and the property was well maintained, and clean. We even met a local fisherman who took us snorkeling right off the beach by the hotel. We liked walking around the area to discover places like Punta Sur for the views and The Joint for tacos and mojitos and Maria's Kan Kin for a fancier dinner. We golf carted around daily for fun in town and to explore but we loved our retreat on the south end of the island.

Room Tip: We loved our room 7.

Did you ever go on vacation, book a large hotel, and then spot other small places nearby and think "Why didn't we stay there?" For me, those moments have happened several times, weather walking, driving, or even on a boat where you get a good view of all the water view properties.

At the La Joya, you'll have to go 15 minutes "off the beaten path" of the hectic downtown area (don't stay there!) and you'll be happy you did. All of the rooms have wooden decks - Nos. 2, 3 are highest up meaning unobstructed views and a close walk to the restaurant and computer area. We stayed in 3. In the morning, just order your breakfast, and it's served on the deck. Coffee/toast/fruit are free. The room isn't large or particularly fancy, but that view !! And the value is so good. Rent a golf cart or take a taxi to get there. I only wish we had two weeks instead of two days.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. It is located away from the busy tourist area of Isla Mujeres, but still provides secluded island views. The staff are amazing and go beyond expectations, the manager provided everything we needed at no hassle and was more than willing to help. The rooms are spacious and all have ocean views. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a quiet retreat in paradise. Thank you to all the staff at hotel la Joya. You made our stay a great memory.
