“Nice place, good food, watch out for the added tip”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

We rented a golf cart to tour the southern part of Isla two days in a row and had lunch here both days. We had the avocado shrimp salad and grilled fish one day and steak and fish tacos the next. All of the food was good. Loved the funky atmosphere and the leafy shade on a hot day. The second day we had live music -- young guy who told us he was half Italian, half-Irish and who had a broad repertoire. The service was on the slow side but adequate. On the second day, the waiter went out of his way to be funny and entertaining, when he was around -- but then he added a 15% gratuity to the check. The only reason we caught it was because we had less and cheaper food than the previous day, but the bill came out to almost the same amount. Then when he left the check he avoided us until we pinned him down and asked for the change, which he was obviously hoping to keep. This was the only place on the island where this happened, and the first waiter didn't do it so it's not the policy of The Joint.

“Fun place with great vibe”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Loved the laid back seating with hammocks. Drinks were inexpensive and cocktails we had were frozen mojito's, really nicely done with the mint crushed along with the ice.

Stopped in for the 4 beers and guac while riding around. Really liked the place and hoping to get back there on my next trip. The guac was great and the beers were cold!!!
