“Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

My husband and I had looked at the reviews of Poc Chuc, and being soup lovers, gave the black bean soup and sopa de limon a try. Absolutely loved both the first time there. We went back with 4 family members a day later; disappointed! My black bean soup was watered down, lukewarm, tasteless, with very little of the "good stuff" in it. The guacamole was mostly onion, a little tomato, and very little green stuff, with only a couple of chips sticking out. Not good! The other family members thought I was nuts for recommending this place as they were disappointed as well. But my husband did enjoy his soup the second time. We like local places but would not return here.

“Poc Chuc (the dish)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

I decided I should try Poc Chuc (the dish) and a have a Leon with it..90 or 110 pesos (before tip). The meal was ok (kind of dry) but I'd go back again and try something different.

I liked the atmosphere but what was outstanding was the service from Lorenzo! He's a really sweet, friendly person.

“Great, family run place with pride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

Really great, well priced, local cuisine served up with pride and care. Homemade food providing a great escape and alternative to the tourist trap restaurants in the area. Its basic, plastic table sna chairs filled with locals and very clean.

Seven medium Camarones al Diablo came wrapped in bacon (no mention on the menu) on a bed of plain white rice, no sauce.

“Hidden Gem Of The Isle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

You don't come for the decor. You come for the incredibly cheap and sick delicious tortillas, tortas, and probably everything else. My favorite was the Loco/Crazy Torta. We ate here a lot. It was our go-to restaurant spot on Isla. If you like joints with cheap, great food, then don't miss it.
