i brought my mother with me for my fourth trip here. this is the third time i have stayed here. when i return i will stay here again. the rooms have fridges, safety deposit boxes, and you are only a few steps away from the beach (playa norte), which was voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world :)
The manager is always friendly ,and very helpful if you need directions or help with anything. i rented a golf cart here for 45 U.S. dollars for 24 hrs. it is always quiet here, which is one of the reasons i like to stay here. i have booked all 4 of my trips to isla mujeras through bookit.com, which works with the hotel, and i have NEVER had any problems when i arrived.

This hotel is located right in the heart of things on beautiful North beach. My husband and I stayed in a castle room and loved it!! We had a corner room and our balcony looked out to the beach. The rooms were simple yet spacious and clean. Their beach tiki bar was nice and relaxing. The free breakfast at their outdoor beach restaurant is just toast and coffee so don't waste your time on that and instead walk a few blocks to the main street where there are tons of restaurants (and bars) to choose from. Only con about this hotel was you had to pay for the beach chairs and beds. My hubby and I just brought the hotel towels downstairs to the beach and laid on those instead and still had a great time!! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay here again!!

We rented a room in the Tower as they call it. It's the newer building and steps from the beautiful beach. The room was very spacious and newly built-the AC was excellent and it faced a side yard, although not a real view we appreciated the quietness for a good nights sleep. Internet worked great in our room and was useful in searching out a restaurant. There was a loveseat and a table with two chairs plus a little balcony with two outside chairs. We felt it was a good value for the price of $58 and the bed was excellent-much better than the one at our expenxive all inclusive that we had went to the following days. Quiet, great ac, good internet, comfy bed! The continental breakfast wasn't much so we skipped it and went to Mango Cafe! We wake up early and wanted our coffee and Mango opens at 7am. There was a little fridge to keep a few beers cold, a coffee maker would have been a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again, the location is excellent. We also rented a golf cart from the hotel and it was a blast!!! It really made our visit more enjoyable to get in that cart and cool off with the breeze hitting you as youd poked around the island.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, the location is great, right in front of the most beautiful beach in isla mujeres. Its well decorated outside, the rooms are not luxury and very simple. The wifi available only at the restaurant located across the street,so there is no wifi at the hotel. In addition, the breakfast is very poor consider to a continental breakfast. The beach chairs, as well as the umbrellas are not included and you need to pay for it.

We loved this hotel and staff. Close to one of the prettiest beaches ever. Bar right across the street with the locals running it and very friendly. Rented a golf cart for all week and boy what a fun time and save $$, and time this way. Local taxis run but nothing like just going out and getting in your cart. (And you can drink a beer while driving thru town). Be safe and smart with it tho. Local resturants were all great. Don Chepos, Ronlandis, Jax's, Oscars, and a Argentina steak house we went to a few times each. ALL awesome. Then a few small local taco rias. They have a 7-11 you can actually buy Coors Light at so my husband loved it. Friendly, and not pushy on selling their wares. Love this Island and will go back soon. The hotel was small, quiet, and quant. AC froze us so that's good. Clean, pillow top on bed. We really have no complaints. The shower is all marble with no curtain so u have to be careful in it. We put a towel in the bottom and stood on it so np prob, hot water but pressure wasn't real good. But doable......go if u get a chance.

Room Tip: Sorry there was no fitness room, wouldn't let me un check the box. No resturant on grounds but a...

This was hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, in my entire life. We had an 8 day vacation planned to Isla Mujeres. We had reserved one of the remodeled rooms called "Castle Rooms" at Cabanas maria Del Mar. When we arrived we were told there was a drainage problem and that we wouldn't get the remodelled room afterall, but just a regular room. Now, we were not given any kind of discount for the fact that we were not getting the remodeled rooms so we paid the higher cost, but got the lesser room. And lesser was what we got.

I want to be clear that we have stayed on Isla before, so its not like we were expecting The Four Seasons. But this was so far below acceptable to us, it wasn't even funny. The room was so small first of all, with old furniture. The security lock was broken on the front door. There was no room to really keep your stuff as there was a super small (and I use the term losely) closet with a few shelves. The bed was like rocks and the pillows seriously were rocks with pillow cases on them. Finally, we had worms that would come up our shower drain. The other thing that is odd is that they made you sign out the safe lock, tv remote and beach towels and return them to the front desk at the end of your stay.

We still relaxed and enjoyed the beach and we love Isla, but I will never stay at this motel (not worthy of the name hotel) again, and I would hardily encourage others to not stay there, unless they really don't care about their surroundings.

Cabañas Maria del Mar is by the beach, walking distance from the ferry and downtown. Has 2 sections, the old one with different types of bedrooms, a little run down but clean and good size rooms. The new section above the restaurant Buhos is very nice, although it`s a little more expensive it´s worth it. This hotel is cheap, nice and very convenient to stay in isla Mujeres, they make a discount if you pay cash. Breakfast is just coffee and toasts. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Choose the newer section above Buho´s reastaurant.
