Hotel with great beach (If not the best!) in Isla Mujeres. First time- Always stayed in Villa Rolandi.
Always opting for upscale boutique hotels- This time decided to see "what else is out there?"
Na Balam came with a recommendation- What a pleasant surprise.
Clean room (#21) felt like upscale "tree house"- Rustic with our own hammock (all pool side have them) no TV, radio, telephone- The perfect shut down! Yoga classes all day-tried it !
Bring toiletries- very limited offered.
Front DESK staff- needs help and serious training on handling knowledgeable travelers.
Restaurant staff will warm up to you- ALL very nice and helpful. Food is decent.
Great location.

Room Tip: The "Beach front" rooms- looked fine. Loved the pool side "Upscale treehouse" b...

We escaped Cancun and stayed one night here! Much more to our liking. The hotel is nothing to fancy. But it is clean and has the great beach and nice restaurant on site! Cute cats! Rent a golf cart and enjoy this lovely island. This was my second trip and I can't wait to go back!! Ferry ride is easy. This island is very relaxing and beautiful !!

Our large group of 25 was excellently cared for at Na Balam. We found the rooms to be beautiful and the yoga palapas are clean and well-supplied with props. But it's the staff that really made our stay there superb - each staff member was caring, attentive, efficient, and professional. This is our third yoga retreat at Na Balam and we'll be back next year!

Room Tip: The deluxe suites are superb with private decks and plunge pools. The poolside rooms are, for the mo...

Waking to breakfast in Zazil Ha, the restaurant of Na Balam, surrounded on two sides by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean is pretty near perfection. Palms rise from the white sand beaches and tower over the grounds. Beds on the beach provide a welcome place to read and enjoy the cool breeze off the water. The service at this eco-boutique hotel was incredible. Elvis, Sergio and Russell kindly brought us morning coffee, drinks on the beach, and dinner in the evening. They were attentive, yet regarded our privacy and space. They gladly dug in umbrellas wherever shade was needed and they kept the beach immaculate and beautiful. At Zazil-Ha the Camarones Pepito Verdes were delicious and unique, but everything we ordered in our 5 night stay surpassed our expectations. The room was basic, but when vacationing in the near perfect climate of Isla Mujeres, we mostly wanted to savor every second outside. The yoga studio at Na Balam provided awesome classes with expert instruction. Yoga under a palapa over looking the ocean and the sunset isn't something I will soon forget! If you need any help with your reservation, Adely will be glad to assist you. She made it possible for us to have a trip that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives!

The beach in front of NaBalam is hard to describe but having just returned to a rainy grey Boston, the memory of turquoise blue water and cloudless blue sky are going to sustain me until Spring finally comes. The grounds and beach at Na Balam are special...there are shell lined paths, gorgeous flowering shrubs and vines and shaded seating areas by the pool and throughout the property. The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk to the center of "town" and to some of the amazing restaurants and shops on Isla.
The staff at NaBalam and at the restaurant were very attentive and accommodating. The food at ZaZil Ha was excellent, I had ceviche twice and my husband had fish tacos.
NaBalam may not be for everyone....there are no tvs or wi fi in the rooms ( lobby and restaurant) but if you want soft white sand, tranquil water, yoga classes and friendly staff, this is the place to go on the island. I have made plans to return next year!

We spent our honeymoon here 14 years ago and decided to come back and try it out again. Looks just the same and I'm pretty sure we were even put in the same room! The location really can't be beat and the beach is just gorgeous here, but the prices seem high compared to the other hotels on the island. I don't know if they were just really busy the first few days or just standoffish, it was hard to get service in the restaurant or on the beach, but by the end of the trip we were treated very well by everyone. Food was okay, but not great. The room was nice, nice views. Shower was a little leaky and hard to adjust the temperature, but other than that no complaints other than the price.

Wife and I had fish tacos here that reminded us why we came to Mexico. They were simply amazing. Two year old had a ham and cheese sandwich that was also great. Drinks were good too. We did not stay in the hotel, but we did rent one of the day beds on the beach (which we wish we had not since we paid way too much for how long we needed but we wanted somewhere for the two year old to take a nap).

I would highly recommend the restaurant, it was the best food we ate while in and around cancun.
