Na balam has one of the best beaches on the island, it is like a screen saver! Yachts would stay there every afternoon to take advantage of the beautiful setting and warm, shallow, shockingly blue water. The vibe of the hotel is very relaxed and disconnected from technology. At first we were scared of this (no tv, no Internet, no fridge, not even a clock in the room) but after a day we loved it!! The rooms are so basic but it adds to the charm of the place. Be sure to get a room on the beach side. Sitting in the hammock on the balcony that faced the beach was perfection. The staff sucked at replenishing anything in our room (shampoo, soap, towels) and the Mosquitos are vicious at night (bring bug spray). The restaurant was great, and the strip of restaurants in town are only a 5 min walk away. The yoga studio was beautiful and the instructors were excellent. I would absolutely stay here again just to be on the beach. Be sure to do the whale shark tour, it's a once in a lifetime experience! If you go diving be sure to go with Andreas of sqalido adventures, he's awesome!
