El Milagro Beach Hotel and Marina
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 1, 2014

Let me start this review by saying Eric the owner has put his heart in soul in this small hotel and Marina. We had a incredible rate for our 12 night stay in the Blue Cabana. We are a couple in our 40's with need for comfort but not luxury. All expectations were met. AC worked great. Full size kitchen and a tv we never turned on. The staff were very friendly and available at all times. My husband went out with the hotel captain fishing and had great success. The staff cleaned and prepared the food that we shared with guests and staff. Nice party for very little cost. The fishing co-op is right next door. Fun to watch them from the dock as they come in with their daily catch. The co-ops dogs come to visit. We are dog lovers so have no problem with this. Would love to take Negra the black dog home with us. Eric taught us how to paddle board . These are included in your stay. I'm hooked and now want to continue the sport on the lakes in Arkansas. The beach area is very small and has seagrass while wading in. This is because of the law and the eco-preservation. Chairs and umbrellas are always out to read or watch the sun rise or set. I would recommend a golf cart if you are staying here. A little removed from town but beside several great restaurants. Eric does provide bicycles. We felt more comfortable tooling around town on the cart. House keeping service was great. They do provide laundry service. Just know that if you want things washed separately or have specific drying instructions it's a risk. The rate is wonderful and if you are on a extended stay it's a convenience. The hotel is on the low wind side so bug spray is highly recommended! No problem in our room. We can't wait to return and see the ever-changing progress! Thank you Eric and staff for making our stay one to remember.

El Milagro is beautiful place to stay while on the isla. Great group areas outside for dining, cooking, relaxing, swimming, and etc. We stayed in the Bayfront II studio room which is upstairs and one of the smaller rooms with no private outside space. The size of the room was fine for my husband and I, and we spent a lot of time down in the group areas or on the beach chairs. The price for the studio was an excellent value.
El Milagro is close enough to down town to walk or ride one of the bikes, but far enough away to be out of the craziness. We took advantage of the bikes at Milagro and frequently rode downtown to the dive shop or to the market, or just toured around the island. It's a great service for Milagro to provide, but do be aware, these cruisers rust easy in this environment and it may be a good idea to have a multitool for minor repairs if you go for a long ride. The staff is great about addressing problems with the bikes....
The staff and the owner are also very accommodating and helpful.
The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 is due to things out of anyone's control. We weren't excited about the traffic noise (pretty hard to avoid on the island) or the construction on either side of the building.

Each time we visit Isla Mujeres we leave with a plan to return. After our recent visit, staying at El Milagro is now a big part of our desire to return. Two huge rooms, spacious kitchen, covered front porch with Adirondack chairs and a handmade tiled table. Just a few steps from the beach, kayaks, bicycles. Friendly guests & the friendliest, most helpful staff. When we wanted lobster for dinner Felix found someone to catch and prepare it for us. Only decision for next year is which room. We will be back!!

We couldn't have asked for anything more during our stay at El Milagro in Bayfront #1 A&B. El Milagro's location has the best of both worlds, it's close enough to the ferry and city center that you can walk or bike there and back easily, but far enough away that you can still enjoy some peace and quiet when you need it. The rooms were air conditioned, spacious, clean, cutely decorated, and had everything we needed in them to wind down after a hot day. The free use of the pool, communal kitchen, paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, and bikes were an added bonus to an already appealing place. We also enjoyed the close proximity of several bars and restaurants that provided lots of entertainment and the opportunity to meet new people as well as the convenience of having a corner store with beer at your doorstep;) Communicating with Eric was a breeze, Jaime and the rest of the staff were super helpful and we honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. We will always remember the great time we had, the amazing people we met, and most of all the adorable marina pup Foster.

We stayed in villa 1 (one of the more budget rooms) and were very happy with the room. Very cosy and beautifully decorated with fantastically equipped kitchen.

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, proximity to marina and use of kayaks etc for free, quieter part of town, brightly decorated room and kitchen, relaxed atmosphere

Cons: not enough pillows (2 so firm they were unusable), very small and basic bathroom, villa 1 on road has some traffic noise (nothing too disturbing)

We would definitely stay here again, great value for money and the staff and additional extras make it worth it. Very community feel while still having your privacy when needed. We loved the extras like being invited to a staff bbq and offered fresh coconuts from the trees.

Stayed here for 4 nights in December in Villa 3. Room was massive with stove, coffee maker, microwave, toaster etc. Cutlery, plates etc>
Hotel facilites include free use of kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear and bicycles plus a small movie theatre !
There is also a very cheap laundry service provided.
Beach is small but very well kept and there are hammocks dotted around the place to lounge around in.
Would definately stay here again.

Hidden gem. Stayed in the penthouse and loved it. They have everything you need. The staff is extremely accommodating, the grounds and rooms well cared for, fun bars and restaurants near by and reasonably priced. Will stay here again, for sure. We plan on making this an annual stop.
