“Good pizza, A/C & ESPN”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2009

Okay, I'll admit, I tend to avoid popular, non-indigenous fare when I vacation. It's probably a combination of hunger for cuisine that's native to the area, preference for spots favored by locals and general skepticism that glowing reviews aren't just based on tourists' familiarity with the type of food. I don't want lobster when in Omaha and I don't go to Chesapeake Bay for chicken fingers, no matter how many reviews rave about them.
It was a pretty dead-hot night and I'd read in a forum that Rolandi's had A/C, so we figured that even if the food was mediocre, we'd at least be cool. The appetizer and two pizzas we had were quite good, not mind-blowing, but absolutely respectable. The calamari & zucchini app was perfectly (lightly) battered and the pizzas were slightly larger than personal size with a medium-thick crust & very good cheese & toppings (the chorizo & jalapeno was my favorite). Service was attentive & not pushy and we got to watch ESPN Deportes while in the cool of the tiled & air-conditioned dining room.
So this place won me over and on our next trip to Isla we'll surely go for pizza on a hot night.

“We Will Return Again and Again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2009

We will always return to Rolandi's when on Isla Mujeres. This is one of my favorite places to dine, having a great variety of local dishes as well as traditional Italian cuisine. If you are looking for a place that is not your typical Mexican fair, Rolandi's is a great choice. The garlicy flat bread is the best!!!

“Awesome Pizza... so great we had to eat there 2 nights in a row!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2009

Before we left for our trip... we were told by friends that we had to go here for pizza... so we did... and they were right! Awesome pizza... crisp thin crust... yummy sauce... gooey cheese... it was wonderful. Our 8 year old loved it sooooo much we had to go back again the next night and it was just as fantastic as the night before! Great service too!

“An Old Favorite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2009

Rolandi’s can be uneven: terrific one day, just ok the next, but overall it is a good restaurant and we have been eating there for years. While most restaurants were deserted this week and last due to the flu scare and lack of tourism, Rolandi’s was doing a good business each night we ate there. For firsts we had the vitello tonato (very thin slices of veal in tuna sauce with capers) that was fantastic, and jamon Serrano chico (minus the cantaloupe) which was also excellent. For the second course we split the wood oven baked chicken that came with a delicious gravy, roasted potatoes and carrots. On a different night we split the gypsy style steak, which was a grilled skirt steak (I think) on a skewer, served with great home made French fries and a salad. It was really good, and if you have firsts splitting dinners is perfectly adequate. In fact, we were very impressed that since we were splitting dinners they plated them separately for us with no extra charge. Even the steak came on two different skewers, with our own portion of French fries, and salads. Their wines, both the red and the white, were delicious. The only miss was the fish filet in parsley sauce that was a bit too oily this time. Normally it is one of my favorite dishes there. Service was prompt, courteous, and professional. We have never had their pasta

“Good Food - Good Place to People Watch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2009

We had dinner at Rolandi's Pizzeria on a week night. This restaurant is located in the heart of Isla Mujeres downtown nightlife where the streets are crowded with tourists and vendors alike. Rolandi's was clean, inviting and the service was attentive. The food was very flavorful and the portions of good size; an overall excellent meal. Pricing was good compared to similar quality of food in the States.
