“great location and service, food could have been better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2009

We ate here one evening (Dec 15). We loved the location over the water, our waiter was very attentive, the prices were fair, but the food was really not very good. The chicken fajitas were very dry and tasteless, and the house speciality Brazile(?) fish (fish and shrimp in a coconut sauce) was just okay. At least the beer was cheaper than most places.

“Great seafood, but ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2009

We at at Bally Hoo in November 2009, and enjoyed the Brazilian-style fish and shrimp. The restaurant is built onto a dock, and the seating and tables are a little more substantial than the plastic furniture at many beachfront restaurants on Isla Mujeres. However, we were a little disappointed that we did not get any salsa and chips before the meal, and the service was rather indifferent. A good place to eat, but you can find even better seafood (for even less) on Isla Mujeres.

“Fresh and tasty”

This place gets my award for the best fried fish tacos and guacamole on the island. We ate there twice and the food was excellent each time.

“Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2009

My husband and I went several times for breakfast. Of course the view is awesome as you are sitting on the water. It's menu is not extensive but the food was great. We also had lunch there and enjoyed the fish and chips and shrimp tacos. They have 4 coronas and gauc for $9 also. Definetly worth going back too!

“nice quaint, rustic seaside restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2008

Definitely go at sunset as the views are breathtaking... It was not crowded when we went but we ate early and sunset was at 5:30pm. Avoid the crab soup as we weren't impressed. But everything else was awesome. Shrimp fajitas were excellent and the shrimp tacos were good. The fish and chips was like any other place but they had good cheap margaritas (40 pesos). We ordered a lot of food and it only cost 410 pesos including tip.
