We booked this excursion through Carnival and paid $129 per person to do the Dolphin Swim/Ride with lunch. Our excursion included being in the water with the dolphins and allowing them to pull us through the water. This excursion also included lunch which was somewhat limited but the food was pretty good.
My wife enjoyed the experience as did I, however, as many people mentioned already, the interaction, swimming, and riding is so limited. They say you are in the water for 40 minutes which is true. In the 40 minutes, we got to touch the dolphins many times as they swam by us, but the only other things we got to do was "hold" them, get pulled by them one time (which was pretty cool), get kissed by them, and "dance" with them. ONE NOTE: MAKE SURE YOUR BATHING SUIT BOTTOMS ARE SECURE WHEN BEING PULLED BY THE DOLPHIN. Mine were probably halfway down my booty. My wife's were also coming off as well. One other lady said her's were coming off as well.
I will say that, as a parent, I felt bad for some of the younger kids that were doing the less "interactive" excursion. As a parent, despite the fact that the value just wasn't there for the $129 per person, I'd feel like a jerk of a dad if I skimped on the most expensive one only to be sitting on the sidelines watching everybody else have a fun time in the water.
Like I said, the excursion was enjoyable, but for $129, I would like to see more interaction. Also, for full disclosure, my wife had a better time than I did.
