“Great place to stay”

Walkable to almost any restaurant or attraction you want. Memmo was very nice and the breakfast is to die for. Homemade, REAL, Mexican food. Open air rooms and beautiful garden inside the house. I will definitely stay again.

My 12 year old son and I stayed from Jan 1-10, 2013. Small bed and breakfast just one block off of Punta Lagosta. Rooms are clean, 'water is hot. My room did not have AC but the breeze flowed through the room, providing ample cooling. Each room has a small balcony area to allow dive gear to dry. My only "complaint" is that you have to haul dive gear up and down at least two flights of stairs coming and going. If you make arrangements to leave gear with your dive op, problem solved.

I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: if heat and humidity bother you, ask for an A/C room. However, even in the non-A/C rooms the temp is...

Booked Mi Casa at the advice of an acquaintance and was thrilled with the result. A trip to a popular dive destination might evoke thoughts of large resort hotels or budget hotels with minimal amenities. Mi Casa is the best of both. You won't find a cold and grand granite lobby and lines of tourists being issued credit card style hotel keys, but nor will you be shorted a touch of luxury. Memo himself greets you and provides a key and a brief introduction to the house-like structure which is discreetly tucked a block behind and several blocks over from the hubbub of the cruise line drop point. The interior style is rustic and simple but tasteful, and designed to offer up the most of the weather and island lifestyle. While Mi Casa is not sound proofed, it provides the guest with a real taste of the local scene, which I find preferable to the gated resort construct that locks out the authentic Mexican experience. If you need 24 hour personal attention by a round the clock staff, do not stay here. If you want to feel like Memo and Irma have opened their home to you, look no further.

Room Tip: We took the Zapote suite, which offered ocean views and decks on 2 levels. It was way more room than...

We stayed here for 10 days, in the Naranja room. This is a lovely, small boutique Inn. Memo is very gracious host and the housekeeper (Irma) is really sweet. We dove most days, so didn't spend a ton of time in our room. We had a lovely deck and hammock. Rooms are spacious and very clean. We had trouble with the shower and it was fixed immediately. The pool area across the street is very relaxing and quiet, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The Inn itself is stunning, with very interesting use of woods, tiles, and coral. Breakfast is simple and really all you need to start the day. Irma was very accommodating and provided us with early breakfast on the days we were diving early. We highly recommend Memo's beautiful Mi Casa En Cozumel, and we can't wait to return!!

We actually booked Mi Casa en Cozumel based on reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Memo was a wonderful host and made sure we had all that we needed for our 1 month stay. Irma did a great job both maintaining our room as well as serving up an ever changing breakfast. We opted for the Tamarindo Room which has a private patio and small fridge that worked!!!!!!There was enough of a breeze that air-conditioning wasn't needed. Mi Casa is very conveniently located and we were able to walk to the ocean, grocery stores, shopping and an abundance of restaurants. The soon to come pool area will be a perfect addition to this quaint little B and B. Keep up the good work!!!! We look forward to coming back.

Room Tip: It really depends on if you are looking for air-conditioning or not/ kitchen or not. We didn't...

This place is really, really cool. The architecture of the hotel is very interesting and pleasing. Our room did not have A/C but we were able to stay cool with the breeze through the windows, especially at night. Also there is a pool area directly across the street that they are working on (not finished yet when we went) that will probably be pretty cool too.

All the rooms are a bit different, and they all have some pros and cons. Some rooms have A/C and some may have wifi, but some people need to go to the common area to get wifi. Anyway, all that is clearly explained by the website, but I would definitely recommend the Mora room for good breeze, amazing view of the city from both sides, wifi signal and plenty of privacy. It was really, really nice. The only cons are that it is on the top floor, so that might be an issue for some people climbing the stairs, and being on the top floor you can hear the sounds of the city and nightlife. The stairs didn't bother us too much, and we tended to sleep just fine, but the Zeta Gas truck woke us up with music every morning as it drove around the city playing some recorded advertisement over and over and over and over again - and there was also a rooster in the morning.

Every morning the breakfast was served downstairs and consisted of coffee, juice, and the special of the day. The cuisine is Mexican. Some of the days were OK, and some were not good. Overall, most left you hungry due to portion sizes. However, the coffee was always great and the juice was great. My recommendation: Have a protein bar, muffin or yogurt on standby in case you need to eat something additional after breakfast :) We think menu could probably use some tweaking, and was overall good, and the service was always excellent for breakfast.

No drinking water is provided in the room or in a common area for guest use. (Don't drink the tap water in Mexico.) We stayed here for about a week, so we bought three five gallon water bottles at the local supermarket. This was the only time that we regretted being on the top floor. Carrying heavy items up and down the stairs is quite a chore in the heat.

We came for the sights and snorkeling, and Memo helped us a lot with places to eat and the good snorkeling spots. For an inexpensive, good quality and authentic local experience, definitely try Chilangos for the huaraches and the various options for fillings. Memo was great to talk to and a really great host generally speaking. He told us about all the great snorkeling spots, and we had a great time.

For groceries, Mega Mart is about four blocks away and Chedraui is about five. If you want to change dollars for pesos, we recommend that you shop regularly at Chedraui and use each visit as an opportunity to get some pesos. They will give you change in pesos at a good exchange rate if you pay in dollars. Keep in mind there is a minimum purchase to do this.

Room Tip: Mora is a great room

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Memo was a gracious host and very helpful. We enjoyed Irma's home cooked breakfasts. We really liked being close to the center of town and yet within walking distance of shops and lots of great restaurants!
