“Great stay!”

This was our first trip to mexico and we had a great time! The villas were located in the local neighborhoods and were in short walking distance of downtown and the beach. We felt very safe as the villas are in a gated community. The other renters seemed to be all older and stay for a while so they are kinda set in their ways. We're pretty quiet and were gone most of the time so there were no problems. Jimmy runs the place and is incredibly kind and helpful. There is a kitchenette and I would suggest if you are planning on cooking to pick up some utensils. The property is stunning. Hot tub wasn't working, so the other renters told us. But maybe we didn't know how to work it. The price was very affordable and if you prefer to be away from the bro crowd this is the perfect place. The wall to the beach is full of shops and restaurants. We would come back!

This place is everything I expected it would be from other reviews I had read. The online pics are accurate. It is six blocks from the water front and about a mile walk to the main grocery stores and main part of town. It has a downstairs living area with a large table and chairs, a small kitchenette with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, etc..Very few dishes and no cooking stuff. No TV downstairs. Not a huge deal but I get up early and like the background noise. Upstairs is the bedroom and bath area. The stairs are a little steep so if you are older or handicapped at all they might be tricky. The grounds are small but nice. Basically just a court yard area. Overall a great deal if your not obsessed with A/I water front. I prefer staying back where the locals live. BTW the wi-fi works great!

Spent 16 days in this place with my new wife for our honeymoon and regretted nothing.

Pros:
Very affordable
Cleaning service (we were told every two days, but we found that sometimes it was three sometimes one sometimes two, but it averaged out to every two days)
Can cook your own stuff (ask jimmy for cookware if you're short)
AC works like a dream
Location is close to all the shops you need but still outside of the tourist trap zone
Two hoping/local/affordable restaurants within 3 minute walking distance
Quiet Clean and Safe
Decent internet if you need to look up some stuff.

Cons:
Far from all sand beaches. Scooter and or car rental is a must. We rented a scooter and felt perfectly safe. There was never an issue with street parking though we were there during low tourist season.
The sheets tend to fall off/felt raggity
Tiny ants in the kitchen. You will not stop them. But when I say tiny I mean tiny. They were a minor nuisance at best.

Overall: If you dont want the all inclusive vibe, you would be a fool to pass this place up.

Beautiful spot, close to everything yet far away from noisy waterfront.
Very friendly management and guests. The suite is just as you see in the pictures. Very comfortable bed and dinning area. Bring your own double size sheets as that was my only complaint. The sheets wouldn't stay on the bed as you slept and quality was a bit poor. There are ants around kitchen so don't leave any food out! Use vinegar as a deterrent. Otherwise....heaven.

Villas Cozumel is so close to being a gem. It's centrally located, very quiet, has an excellent on site manager, every other day maid service, great bed, wifi, A/C, good shower and a kitchen and balcony. If only there were any utensils to cook and eat with, a coffee maker, chairs on the balcony and more than one roll of start up TP etc!! If you are prepared to forage in the hood to set up house, this is a wonderful, budget friendly oasis.

This is not a fancy hotel or resort on the beach but it is an excellent little spot in the city off the tourist path and a great deal. Not a lot of amenities but it's clean (and cleaned daily), secure, parking is ample, the wi-fi and A/C are strong and the caretakers are available and friendly. Tons of great locals' food joints, the municipal market, grocery/mini marts and other stuff are all within a couple blocks' walk, too. Highly recommended.
