We love the Presidente in Cozumel in part because they strive to make your stay a phenomenal experience. It had been two years since our last visit (way too long) and one of several additions we noticed was the Napa Grill. We have a few must visit restaurants when we go to Cozumel, but our last night was free and instead of a repeat we decided to try the new (at least to us) restaurant at the hotel.
The Napa Grill did not disappoint! Upscale atmosphere with a lovely view of the little cove at the heart of the Presidente. I loved the personal attention and the illuminated menus...finally I could read what was available! The lobster bisque and crab cakes starters were obviously fresh and delightful. We chose steaks in part for a change of pace from the wonderful seafood we had enjoyed, but also because it was recommended. Perhaps not up to the standard of a Morton's, Fleming's or your favorite steak house, but it was very good. The wine selection was excellent and the service (thank you Victor) was as good as it gets!
If you are in Cozumel and desire a relaxed upscale dining experience I would suggest the Napa Grill.

Went to Napa Grill looking for upscale not heavy food. Very nice setting and attentive friendly service, but food was little inconsistent. My wife ordered group pepper crusted. I ordered the Mexican steak special with Mexican sides (small chicken taco, etc.). We both ordered hearts of Palm salad with endive, asparagus, tomato, etc. the two quartered tomatoes were as crisp as apples. We get better Mexican grown tomatoes in Maine. The dressing was minimal and the asparagus was almost raw. The grouper had hardly any pepper, was bathed in butter as were the pedestrian broccoli floret and a few carrots. The garlic sauce accompaniment was clearly garlic juice from a bottle in oil. The steak strips were very tasty with several spices, but a little dry. The chicken taco was dry and the mini quesadillas were tasteless. One good touch were the self illuminating menus. Service was good, but the food needs a considerable uptick to be on a par with Intercontinental Hotel

My daughter and I split the lobster and tenderloin dinner. It was the perfect portion for us. The meat was cooked to our order and was flavorful and tender. The lobster also was very tender and well seasoned. We had order the grilled vegetables as a side and they were fantastic. The variety of vegetables was impressive and was a generous serving. Our waitress, Michele, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and things were to our liking. She helped make our experience an excellent one.
