“Nice but busier”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

We'd visited this beach in 2013 when quite a few cruise ships where in port but it wasn't busy until late in the day. This year it was busy from the start. The snorkel/dive shop was completely booked with pre-bookings, so we never did get to go out. A much different experience from last year. The beach was still beautiful, drink service frequent, and the water gorgeous! Bathrooms were clean. Will we return? Maybe, more likely we'll try a different place next time.

“Great, quiet beach away from the crowds”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

We went last week to Playa Palancar with a group, the second time for my husband and I (we were there in 2011). We like this relaxing, laid back quiet beach. Great fish tacos, shrimp ceviche, and other food. Loved our waiter, Mario, who took good care of us and ran separate tabs for each of the 4 families in our group. Lots of available activities if you choose--snorkeling by boat, parasailing, jetskis, kayaks, massages. Or just lay on the beach and soak up the sun. Group taxi fare ran about $11 per person for our group of 12 round trip. The sand is a little rough from broken seashells, but the water was clear and some people were snorkeling from shore and seeing plenty of fish.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

Beach was lovely but it was also crowded and there was no shade left. We will have to visit again on a not so busy day!

“Pretty”

This beach is usually quiet. You can sunbathe, watch the ocean, or get a great snack and drinks. Wonderful for a relaxing sunset.

“All day long!”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Why do you go to the beach? Sun, fun, relaxation, food...Playa Palancar has it all! We went down for scuba diving because we didn't want to spend an hour in a boat traveling each way. After the first dive, we were taken into shore and were able to get our lunch. Fish tacos are the best on the island (imho). The waiters and restaurant is fabulous. Cozumel divers (Gustavo, Ivan, Peter and the rest) are the best.
