“Small Beach with Amenities”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Just an average beach on the southern side of Cozumel - there's a restaurant and some little shops, restrooms and changing rooms. The beach and waterfront access itself is kind of small.

There is no charge to enter or use the beach chairs/loungers, which is nice.

“Beautiful beach in Cozumel! Very relaxing!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We recently took a cruise to Cozumel from Galveston on the Carnival Triumph. After we shopped and had lunch at Pancho's Backyard in the downtown area, I reserved a taxi that took us to Playa Palancar. This is one of the public beaches that most of the Cozumel locals attend. We were not disappointed. Beautiful sand, relaxing chairs, plenty of cold beer and food to eat while getting a tan.
Highly recommend! Not crowded as some of the other touristy beaches that are advertised by the cruise ship excursions.

“Good beach away from crowds”
Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

$25 cab ride from the cruise pier was well worth the 5 hours we spent here. Nice quiet beach that is out of the way. Decent snorkeling that is great for beginners ( easy access) with crystal clear water. Did not see inflated prices from the bar, a can of beer along with two sodas was $7 a round. Not a ton of beach chairs but plenty of shade under the many palm trees if needed. Also no entry fee to the beach unlike many others. Have been to this island seven times and we will return to this beach next time.
