We took an island tour, and this was recommended by one of the locals as a good place to stop for lunch. It was around 1:00 p.m. when we got there, and it was very busy. Our food and drink orders were taken within 10 minutes. I ordered a margarita and it was the worst I've ever had. Lots of tequila and sour lime juice, no orange liqueur at all. I could hardly drink it. My husband and I both ordered the palancar fish special ... fish, shrimp and lobster. The shrimp and lobster were terribly overcooked, tough and dry. It was a wasted $52 for lunch!

We did this snorkeling trip as an activity as we were docked through our cruise ship. It was FANTASTIC. Our dive masters were so much fun and because the water was choppy that day they took the new snorkelers under their wing and made us feel safe and secure. We saw many fish and even 2 sea turtles. After the snorkeling we went to the beach for our lunch, open bar and all the beach toys.On the way back we danced on the boat and really had a great time. It was a wonderful day and we feel that the price was absolutely spectacular for all that was included. Thank you so much Manuel !!!!

My husband and I visited Playa Palancar on 2/9/2013 - on the recommendation of a cab driver. We were in for the day on a cruise but wanted to get away from the crowds. This was the perfect spot! Hammocks under the palms, free lounge chairs on the beach with cushions and a small restaurant - and all without hotels behind you. We arrived at 9am and were the only people on the beach for the first hour.

We had a great waiter, Fernando, that took care of us immediately upon our arrival. We had two delicious 22oz banana daiquiris for breakfast (mine came with a hibiscus). For lunch we had fresh made guacamole with authentic tortilla chips and fish tacos that came with fresh salsa, habenero sauce and jalepenos. Both were delicious! Plenty of beer options and of course margaritas and tequila.

There were beautiful peacocks strolling on the beach and we were told there were monkeys too but we never saw them.

While we did not snorkel, plenty of people did. However, we saw plenty of fish just standing in the ocean.

If you have been to the Soggy Dollar Bar on White Bay in Jost Van Dyke, BVI, this will be reminiscent of that. However, a little more mellow and smaller.

This is a must do if you are visiting Cozumel!

p.s. We lived on St. John in the USVI for a few years and I would say this beach is up there with the best we have seen!

Came here specifically to do the snorkel trip. We’d been here once before and really enjoyed it so decided to do it again.

It is free to get in to the beach club, but the cost is $35 per person to do the snorkel trip. They take you out to the two reefs via boat. We only had 6 people in our group, which was nice.

Snorkeling out here is great. Lots of fish and corals. It is really deep, which is different than much of the shore snorkeling on the island.

The guide/captain were both great.

We will likely do this each time we are on the island. Highly recommend it.

We stayed here for about 5 hours on Feb 1. Service was pretty quick compared to usual Mexican time lol. Great drinks and cold buckets of beer. Four of us drank 20 beers and 3 mixed drinks and had some light appetizers for about $100 us. Beautiful beach and some light snorkeling off shore. We did not take the boat trip. Great place and not crowded !!!!!
