“Favorite beach in Mexico.”
Reviewed December 5, 2011

Not only my favorite beach in Mexico, but one of my favorite in the world. Quiet, picturesque area with secluded sandy areas as well as an excellent restaurant. Best fish dishes ever! Tourist are not overwhealming here. Come here if you can find it! Snorkeling trips leave from here as well.

“Playa Palancar-Paradise!!”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

I go to Cozumel 1-2 times a year and always end up coming back to this beach. It is a $20 cab ride from downtown and well worth it. The beach is lovely, uncrowded and has a great restaurant and bar. The waiters are very attentive if you need them but they do not hover over you. There are plenty of chairs and loungers available at no cost. The beach is also free; we always order lunch and drinks and 2 of us eat/drink very well for under $40. The fish tacos are wonderful and the margaritas are loaded. I've never had any problems with the food or water here. The water is crystal clear but take some swimming shoes because it can get a little rocky in the water. There are iguanas and peacocks everywhere. If you want a relaxing day without a lot of activities then give this place a try!

“go, it's very nice and laid back!”
Reviewed September 4, 2011

Very nice beach with white sand and turquoise water, fish close to shore, tasty and authentic mexican food.
Safe with children too and they'll love the iguanas.
We took their boat to go snorkling on the reef (with my 10 and 7 year olds) and had a great time: corals aren't as close to you and as beautiful as in Fidji, the Maldives, etc, however we were lucky to see good size turtle, baracuda and sting ray within just an hour.
We'll go back if given the chance!

“Amazing place, unfortunately the management totally sucks”
Reviewed August 23, 2011

We went to Palancar recently and were really impressed by the place, they do have the best little place in cozumel west side, but when it comes to service they do lack that, they say one thing and do another, it is also very pricey and the food was not as great as expected, also some people on the table next us (locals) asked for their discount and they said yes, then the waiter came back and said, only with a minimum of 30usd we apply it, they got pissed off and call the manager who NEVER CAME!!! so that was some experience, and the service as I said is slow and dumb...besides that the ocean there is really nice and we are so dissapointed that people like them get to manage one of the most beautiful places in cozumel...

“Not what we expected...”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

We spent a week in Cozumel and visited a different beach club just about every day. We were excited to visit Playa Palancar because of the many good reviews but were actually disappointed. The food wasn't as good as what we'd had at other beach bars and was a bit more expensive. The kids did enjoy swimming out to the floating platform and jumping off. However, relaxing on the beach was not an option because the sand flies were swarming and absolutely unbearable the day we were there (I don't know if that's the norm). We got many bites so we didn't stay long.
