“ATV is fun - don't do the snorkeling and don't buy the DVD with pictures!”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

ULTIMATE COZUMEL ATV ADVENTURE with Snorkeling We are a family of 6 (kids: 10, 14, 17) and 3 adults – we booked a ATV tour of Cozumel with Cozumel Cruise Excursions on December 24th. I can definitely recommend them to anyone else – just avoid the snorkeling and don’t buy the DVD for pictures!!!! I must also mention, the trip was not “enlighten” by a guide – we simply made our day fun. The entire process, from booking the tour to initial meeting to the tour itself, went smoothly. We all met in front of Margaritaville where we took taxis to the ATV area (takes 10 minutes to get there). It feels a bit like a TT (Tourist Trap) but overall, it is money well spent. Some guides were showing snakes – my son took a Boa around his neck. Once changed; we got on the ATV. My only critic was the group was too large; and some of us at driven before, some were beginners. The group should have been split to make it more fun. There are stops to show a cave and see a water hole (note: you don’t see any ruins…). But our sons loved the ATV in the mud – they had a blast! You can’t take pictures of the animals – but you can buy a DVD – which I did (for $ 60.00) – half the pictures are corrupted (I can see 84 out of 134 pictures – which is a shame….) After the ATV – were taken to an absolute horrible beach (mostly volcanic stones and sandbags are your way in to the sea), holes in the long chairs and dirty sand... We opted out and left the beach sooner than anticipated. The taxis taken us back drove like idiots – so we were not impressed (our party was separated which created some anxiety…), there were no guides there at all. However, the final stop was Margaritaville – for free drinks. That became the second highlight of the day; the kids were give balloon hats, the nachos were great and the party feel ended our day on a fantastic note!"

“A wild bumpy ride”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

We had a blast on this excursion driving the dune buggy. This is a good way to see a good part of the island that you don't see on a "normal" excursion. I made note of some areas I'd like to go back to in the future. If you go as a couple, be aware that you will probably be pared up with another couple and you will take turns driving the dune buggy. They will take a picture of you and the other couple in the buggy, so ask them to take two pictures in case both couples want one.

Your reservation is for local time. This is one hour later than the ship's time, so do any shopping in port you want to do when you first get off the ship. We had enough time to take our purchases back on board before the excursion left.

The snorkeling was just mediocre (so don't take this excursion for the snorkeling), but the waves were strong that day which made it more of a challenge. The food definitely could have been warmer which would have made it more tasty, but the service people were nice and friendly. The changing facilities are a bit primitive.

The lighthouse and nature reserve were fun stops. The dune buggy in front of us hit every pothole filled with water on the drive back to the lighthouse, so we ended up a bit muddy - but that was part of the fun. On the drive out we passed him and returned the favor!

The tequila stop was well-worth it, but we were a bit rushed. We learned how to tell the really good stuff from the "junk." That's probably a good thing because we would have bought more if we'd been there longer.

Overall a fun day that was memorable. Do not expect to have any extra time at the end of your day. Wear clothes that you don't care if they get muddy and enjoy the very friendly staff. They are very aware of what time they have to have you back in port, so don't worry and just have fun.

“Dune Buggy tour”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

This was a fun excursion driving the dune buggies, although I didn't feel extremely safe as the seatbelts weren't working well and there was no cushioning in the seats and the gas pedal was only a piece of linkage as the pedal itself was missing. Also the timing was way off. Our ship docked at 8am EST and the excursion was set for 9:45 CST, we got back to the ship at 4:30pm ship time and the ship was set to debark at 5pm, we felt rushed. They need to adjust their times to coincide with ship times.
The snorkeling was not great in that the shore was very uneven getting into the water and the reef was dead. The visit to the eastern side of the island was worth it as it was very scenic.
This was the most expensive excursion we took on our cruise and if I had to do it over again I would chose something else. The staff was great and very helpful. We also enjoyed the Tequila tasting.

“Incredibly flexible staff made trip a success; Thanks Island Marketing, Ltd.”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

Recently, we went on our second family cruise to the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate at all at any of our stops. The best stop for us, though, proved to be in Cozumel because of the excursion we booked through Island Marketing, Ltd. The tour we wanted to take through the ship was sold out, so we signed up through their website, www.cozumelexucursions.com, and we pleasantly surprised. We signed up for the Dune Buggy tour with snorkeling. All snorkeling was canceled for everyone on the ship, but the tour operator made up for this by throwing in a stop at a Tequila plan where we got to taste all of their different tequilas, and also stopping at a lighthouse. While we were disappointed about missing the snorkeling, we were very pleased with the overall experience because the tour operators were so accommodating! Thanks so much!

“Cozumel Private Tour”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

We recently took the private tour of the island. Booking this tour online was very easy. We arrived to meet our driver a few minutes late and he had left with another group, which was a blessing to us. Our new driver was Danny, who was excellent. He took us on a tour of the city, which showed us not only the tourist areas, but areas where regular people live and work. He also took us to an excellent tequila factory and to the main shopping district. I would book tours again with this company and I would ask for Danny. It was a great experience.
