We have been following La Pergola Terraza on Facebook. Since it is co-owned by Rene of Del Sur Argentina we definitely HAD to give it a try.
Unlike its "sister" restaurant, La Pergola Terraza specializes in traditional Mexican hauraches. If you've not tried a huarache, you must. It's sort of an open-faced sandwich, with the "bread" being sort of a flatbread made of cornmeal. They have a variety of toppings from which you can choose. Our favorite was the red sausage and cheese. You can even experiment a little and ask them to make you a 'half and half.' These are large sandwiches and could easily satisfy two people.
In additional to the huarache, they also serve pizza -- I think, all you can eat.
Mario, Rene's brother, runs the restaurant and is very friendly and helpful. This is a roof-top restaurant and they have tables that overlook the ocean as well as the street. It was a very pleasant April evening when we were there so we stayed and enjoyed coffee on the sectional. We're really glad we gave La Pergola Terraza a try and will definitely be back next year.
