“Wonderful B&B”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Los Alcatraces is a gem! Greg and Silvia are conscientious proprietors that pride themselves in making sure their guests are comfortable. They served pastry and fruit with hot coffee at the time we requested each morning during our seven day stay. Our mother-in-law suite was nicely decorated and cleaned daily. The queen size bed was very comfortable with nice linens, the fridge in the room kept the water nice and cold, and the new a/c unit worked very well! The location is very convenient for walking to many restaurants. We would highly recommend staying at this wonderful B&B in Cozumel!

What a fabulous vacation! Greg and Silvia were so attentive, the property is beautiful and close to everything, and the room was everything we hoped for.

GREAT FOOD NEARBY - walk just a few blocks in any direction and you've found wonderful tacos al pastor, huaraches, and so many salsas! Try the chicken place down on Av. 30. So good - and very inexpensive!

GREAT WALKING - My husband and I walked all over - the main square, the Mega, restaurants. If you need a cab, you can usually flag one down in front of the B&B, if not, just walk half a block and get one on the main road. Very convenient! Need some snacks? Bring along a canvas shoulder bag and walk to the Mega for anything you want. Thirsty? Walk across the street and there is a little bodega with beer and sodas.

SCUBA - We are divers and had a great time. Greg and Silvia also dive, so they understand you - and all your gear. There's a rinse tank in the garden and a line to hang your wet drippy things. Plus they can give advise on shore dives, diving operators, or equipment repair. Besides - it's always nice when someone understands why you are so excited after a dive where you saw sharks, nudibranchs, or turtles!

Hi Greg & Sylvia,

We had a fantastic time with you guys. Your kindness and your good advices on places to see around were very appreciated. We would love to come back and stay with you again. The place was clean, well kept and well furnished. Best coffee we had in Mexico! I will highly recommend you to everyone who wishes to stay home away from home in Cozumel.

This B&B had everything I needed! The room was clean, bed and pillows were not worn out, TV cable worked and picture clear, mini fridge actually kept things cold, pool was just enough for a cool dip on the hot days, rear court yard was tasteful and had a rinse tank and clothesline to dry dive gear. Gregg and Sylvia are great host and had my breakfast ready for me every morning on time. Very quiet area and with room in the back you don't hear any street noise.

One of the many pet peeves I found in the tropics is moldy bathrooms, refrigerators and the cleaning of rooms by just wiping down with water. NOT HERE, GREGG AND SYLVIA use soap and a disinfectant so the entire place is MOLD FREE!!!!!

A budget priced room with million dollar service.

Had a great time in Cozumel this past July, thanks to Greg and Sylvia's awesome Los Alcatraces. Beautiful cabanas, tucked in the back of the house, still can't believe breakfast was included..... Thanks Greg for keeping my coffee cup full in the morning
Best of Luck Ed & Rita

We had a lovely stay at Los Alcatraces. Silvia and Greg, the owners, are really kind, they welcomed us warmly and helped us in anything we needed. Our room was really beautiful and cozy. It is located in a quiet street, about eight blocks from the center. We highly recommend Los Alcatraces.

Staying here was part of the highlight of our vacation. Greg and Silvia are so welcoming and made our trip a more enjoyable one. Definitely the spot to stay next time we visit Cozumel! We were greeted at the front gate as our taxi dropped us off. Made us feel welcome since day one. We really didn't want to leave on the fifth day. When asked, they kindly helped with restaurant recommendations and orientation of the island. Helped us get a rental scooter, which we used to visit the whole island. Overall, it was fun and relaxing to stay here, with the breakfast served at the time we asked. Rosa, their pet dog is very friendly and non-intrusive. She is a happy dog and was a nice companion. We are going to tell our friends of the hidden treasure we found! Thank you Greg and Silvia!
