I finally had the opportunity to visit Buccano's for their dinner, presently served only on Fridays and Saturdays only. What a phenomenal meal!

I started with the Lobster Pizzita, an appetizer pizza topped with lobster. The sauce had a hint of honey that truly complimented the exquisite flavor of local lobster. My dinner choice was the fresh tuna, perfectly seared and presented in a tamarindo sauce, accompanied by black pasta with a coconut and poblano chile sauce. The sauces enhanced without overpowering the ingredients. Delicious!

I also tried my dinner companions' dishes of fresh tomato soup, caesar salad with fresh tuna, and the fresh wahoo dinner platter. All excellent. Desserts included a trio of chocolate mousses and frangelica cheesecake. One of my friends was treated to a complimentary birthday dessert: fudge brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and a decadent fudge sauce.

The service was impeccable. The surroundings cannot be beat: oceanside outdoor seating, under the stars, encircled by tiki torches. Elegant mini flashlights were provided for each diner, with the presentation of the menu, and stayed on the table throughout the meal. A very nice touch.

If you are visiting the island by cruiseship, you will miss out on this incredible dinner experience. Anyone staying in a hotel, and any locals that haven't had the pleasure of visiting at Buccano's yet, I strongly encourage to go, eat and enjoy. Then tell everyone you know.

We had a wonderful evening and a really delicious dinner. The ahi salad appetizers were amazing to start out and we tried the crispy poached egg appie to see what is was like and is was also very delicious. Our entrees also amazing. We had a really pleasant and unusual French Chardonnay. The service is great, they are very attentive and both the chef and the manager came around frequently to see how we were doing. We are on the island for the first time and want to try out new places and though we usually don't under these circumstances we will have another meal there before we leave... It is really high end in both food quality and price but all things considered, including the atmosphere of being right on the water and on a lovely outdoor patio it is worth it.

This beach-club-by-day establishment just started serving dinner Friday and Saturday evenings. We wandered over from the Playa Azul last Friday and stayed for dinner. The owner is very hands on and visits each table to personally explain the specials, menu and wine list. We ordered the spicy wings and a Montes Malbec to start. Fabulous. No better wings anywhere in our travels. We followed by fish and chips and the chicken chorizo pizza. We were blown away.

Saturday came and even though we are on the all inclusive here at Playa we decided to go back. This time we orderd a bottle of the Malbec which was carefully decanted. I ordered the fresh mackerel in a honey butter sauce and hubby had the lobster/sirloin kabab. Again, we were swept off our feet. We declined dessert but were thrilled when the owner sent over a parfait with their own cinnamon ice cream with poached apples and a crunchy streusal. It was so perfect for a finale.

All of this in a gorgeous beach front restaurant, artfully and tastefully decorated.

If you are in Cozumel on a Friday or Saturday night you MUST try this place.

This is our third year coming to Cozumel, and by recommendations from others staying in our condo development, we tried Buccano's. We were not disappointed! We showed up at the gate, we were announced and we drove to the parking area where Anne, the hostess met us, flashlight in hand, to guide us to a table. Dinning is either pool/Oceanside or under cover in the bar area, which is wide open to the sea. Inez, owner/chef came over shortly after we were seated to thank us for coming, tell us what her specials were for the evening. We ordered a round of drinks, all came out prepared as ordered. Appetizers were delicious, prepared and presented well. Entrees were fantastic and well made. I ordered the surf and turf, and was told by the chef that she did not like the cuts of angus beef that week, so she substituted another cut, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Deserts were great, they had a problem with the freezer, so our ice cream was not fully frozen, so we were comped our deserts, a nice touch to know the owner/chef is even inspecting the deserts coming out.
My only negative was the waiter we had struggled with our only English speaking party. He did finally receive help from the other waiters, and nothing came out incorrect. We will definetly go back next year.

Buccanos at night brings a whole new meaning to this facility. We enjoyed beautiful meals while looking out on the ocean with torches lighting the restaurant. The food was exquisitely prepared and presented. The service was attentive. The conversation with Anne (hostess) and Inez (chef and owner) made this one of the most pleasant dining experiences in Cozumel.
