“A Treasure!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Just discovered this little gem last night and can't wait to return! The ambiance is sweet with tables inside as well as a small garden area. The staff is charming and gracious; very helpful in explaining menu items, portions, etc. The chef is an artist. We tried many dishes, from salad to wine-glazed mushrooms, to chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Each dish was divine! The carpaccio vegetable salad with balsamic reduction was beautifully presented and a really unique and flavorful dish. The prices are very reasonable. Perhaps we should keep this secret to ourselves!

“Great deal!”

The place is just wonderful: good tasting food at "local" prices. I especially recommend the fruit dish with yogurt and musli!

“A great meal or meals”
Reviewed April 7, 2012

Pleasant and easy to reach as it is 5 minutes from square.

The restaurant is a open and the staff fabulous.

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner they use fresh herbs from their garden just outside the door.

Their breakfast was excellent and pancakes and omelets perfect.

We had take out sandwiches and fruit which we took to Chankanuab which was great.

The fish, which I use as a restaurant to restaurant comparison, was in the top flight.

Service is excellent.

Skip the restaurants on the main drag and walk a couple of blocks to a true island experience with all the genuine hospitality of its residents.

“A tiny new jewel in Cozumel”
Reviewed April 7, 2012

We loved the top notch food here at dinner and breakfast and we also enjoyed the delicious sandwiches and fruit they packed for our lunch on the beach. The restaurant had just received its liquor license when we first visited, and the locals had apparently not yet discovered this charming venue. The chef is talented and understands the subtleties of how to cut fish, vegetables, and fruit to reveal their quintessential flavors and textures. We were entirely charmed by the restaurants' furnishings, including the incredibly beautiful tile floors, original to the house, and different in each of the small rooms. The women who run La Antigua are incredibly friendly. I was not feeling well one evening, so our waitress (who I believe was one of the owners) prepared herbal tea made from fresh mint from La Antigua's garden. She told me it was the way her mother made tea for her when she was ill. The owners are working on outdoor seating in the large space behind the restaurant. This restaurant will soon be overrun, so visit now.
