I went to El Mirador as part of a cruise ship sponsored excursion through Carnival. The shoreline was beautiful. There are a few vendors and a small bar set up there. The vendors were not pushy and they actually had some good deals and were eager to bargain. I would definitely go back!

El Mirador was a stop on our shore excursion from Royal Caribbean. It was a wonderful stop for photos of the beautiful Caribbean Sea and the rocky coast of Cozumel. We were not looking for food or souvenirs, so we did not have any experience with those vendors. If you are just looking for breathtaking scenery, this is the spot!

The visit to El Mirador was part of a tour excursion we purchased from RCCL.
This was in our opinion the best part of the tour of Cozumel.

Beautiful shades of blue water, albeit the rocky shoreline is rather blah but the views are lovely.
We especially loved "Alberto the friendly Iguana",of course we had to take some pictures with Alfredo.
The few souvenir stands are selling the same things you can get cheaper in town, the haggling and pestering by the guys who continually ask if you want to buy Cuban Cigars here is borderline harassment.

Anyhoo El Mirador is a nice place to take some pics and dip your toes in water.

I gave this a 4 only because of the beauty of the beach. Unfortunately we were on a tour sponsored by a cruise line and it was running late. We stopped and most of us were so hungry we ate at one of the two restaurants???…the prices were exorbitant…we ordered a "conch salad" and I had montezuma's revenge the next day. My husband was not as affected. We also ordered a Pina Colada..which was gorgeous, but I swear if they put liquor in it it was a "drop"..to make matters worse the waiter "pretended he did not speak English, not one word" oh but I heard him later and he was quite fluent..

Located at km 33.5 on the east coast of the island, it's a natural scenic area with naturally-formed rock
bridges along the coast. It's quite beautiful, but as others have pointed out, there is garbage on the beach, but most were washed up from the sea. There are souvenir stalls that sell cold drinks on the beach, and a washroom. It's a nice photo stop! For parking, just drive down to the bike path and park on the side of the path.
