My wife and I just returned after spending another fantastic week at Villa las Anclas, our third trip there as a couple and my sixth overall. There's really no better choice for lodging in Coz.....quiet, modern, clean and well-appointed. Within a one to five minute walk you'll find the finest restaurants, best shopping and, if your a diver, many of the best dive shops on the island. Aldora and Aqua Safari piers are only a block and a half away. And, it's a condo with a loft bedroom, not the two beds and a bathroom many of the other hotels offer at the same price. We're going back in December and can't wait to see the new pool! Villa las Anclas has been in the top 5 of the hotels in Cozumel for many years and there's good reason for it! The new owners, Doug and Jim, are carrying on the las Anclas tradition of providing the best service on the island. If you're looking for a traditional hotel look elsewhere. If you're looking for a beautiful, intimate and spacious setting with all the conveniences of the city right outside the door - this is the place!

Pros: excellent location
staff very nice and considering
Room is big enough (stayed at apartment #5)

Cons: tv is at the lower floor, whereas the bedroom is upstairs
We had some pipe system problems... They took care of what we complained about
The Reception "lobby" is open only during daytime
Overall : theres a good value for the money so we did stay there for 4 nights .
They told us theyre adding a pool in a couple of month. Could be a major improvement.

We are sorry for the inconvenience due to the construction of our pool, we had to shut the water down for 2 hours during the day. I had thought all the guest were gone for the period of time it took to turn the water back on. Villa Las Anclas is a small operation but someone is on site 24/7 even when the lobby is closed to help with any guest needs.

Just got back from my second stay with Doug at Villas Las Anclas, and like the 1st it did not disappoint. The rooms are clean, very spacious, and for the money well appointed. I cannot say enough about Doug and his entire staff, though small, very efficient, and very friendly, and helpful. This is the only place that I will stay when my own property is full.

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same so whichever room you get you cannot go wrong.

This is the perfect place for me to stay with two grandchildren. The villa is cool, clean and comfortable with a beautiful garden breezway. There is a frig and microwave so we could eat on the run before diving.
Karla was so pleasant helping us make travel plans and find places to eat. Doug helped us rent a car, find restaurants and was willing to help us with anything we needed. Everything they do is with a smile and I am sure they are content in such a peaceful environment. The grounds were perfect and the room cleaned with care.
This is a perfect place in the city to stay and will be the only place for us.

First visit to beloved Anclas since Pedro/Eyal departure. Endearing memories of Eyal's pamperings, now replaced with a new owner, Doug, who lifts this paradise to levels UNPARALLED. Operations Manager, Karla, will win you over FAST. Only one explanation why such a lovely woman would give so selfisly to make the comforts and joys of Cozumel so very real to all her guests.... ESPERANZA! IT is all in her! She will woo you with her warmth of service, and send you away with HOPE that you just might take some of "IT" home with you. Only those who are blessed enough to stay at Las Anclas will know what "IT" is! Trust me, IT is sweet.... So blessed that IT lives on in Cozumel, and that IT touched this heart!! Can't wait to return to LasAnclas... Thanks, Doug, for keeping my special home away from home so VERY special. -Rusty Walker, Ft.Worth (214-287-4273)

We had a wonderful week in Villa las anclas, great service and a clean, quiet place to relax! The people at the reception gave us a lot of useful information and the cleaning lady and the gardener were really friendly.

I just love it here. We have been here six times now and it is as close to a “second home” as a hotel is ever likely to get for us and the recent changeover of owners doesn't change that for me. The owners and all the staff are really helpful and talkative and the improvements they have made and plan to make are all in keeping with the general feel of the place anyway. The buzz in the new reception area for the hotel and the dive shop next door but connected is great and the free coffee in the morning is a nice new touch especially for those of us in a rush not that there is ever any need to rush on 'Mexican time'. The rooms are super large, the beds are comfortable and the courtyard is beautiful - a great place to sit whether you want sun or shade. I don't have a bad word to say about the place but I wouldn't would I or why would we all keep coming back.

Check out the photos they say everything really except perhaps location. Location is great not too near the front, not too far back, no taxis required and most important nowhere near the airport. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance. My favourite restaurants are Kondessa, Kinta and Del Sur though Antigua just a few doors down does a nice simple breakfast. My favourite drinking places are La Casa de Mojito (best Mojitos ever) and Wet Wendy's (great Daquiris for those who don't like Margaritas for which they are more popularly known) but best of all is probably the hotel courtyard where it is very easy with a fridge full of cold beer to while away the hours until happy hour when we break out the rum and pineapple. Its doesn't get better than that - just go, just not the last week in February, first week in March they're ours!.
