Villas las anclas is just a wonderfull place. Jim, the owner is very kind. The rooms are beautiful with 2 floors- bedroom, living room and kitchen, and very clean and comportable. The garden is peacefull and beautiful. The location is great- in the center of the city. The price is very reasonable.
We recommend staying there very much!

Stayed at Villa Las Anclas for several nights in July and had a great experience. Very clean and super location a block from the city center. Very reasonable price. We really enjoyed this unique hotel and will definatley stay again when we return to Cozumel. Thanks Jim.

Room Tip: All units look out into a courtyard and are good. It was very quiet.

We stayed at Las Anclas for our second recent trip to Cozumel. The new owner, Jim, is really great and seems to have the place all 'dialed-in'. No problems with water leaks as Ernesto managed to dump quite a bit of rain on Cozumel as it passed to the south. Jim gave us a Blue Book of Cozumel that turned out to be a great resource. Jim is running a promotional rate for rooms right now, and Villa Las Anclas is even more of a bargain!

We stay at Las Anclas whenever we dive in Cozumel. The location is perfect (off the main drag but 1 1/2 blocks from the waterfront). There are 7 large private bungalows, each 2 stories with a small kitchen and a lovely courtyard in front (and an area in back with a hose to rinse and hang your dive gear). The rooms are clean and very comfortable. It is a 5 minute walk to the pier where many dive boats can pick you up. Great restaurants are close by. A tip: when we arrive in Cozumel, we walk to Mega (a large superstore) several blocks away and purchase our groceries for breakfast and lunch, then go out every night for dinner.

Room Tip: All are good.

Whenever been to Cozumel, I have stayed here. Former owner Pedro is retired, now Jordi, grand son of Pedro, is operating Villa Las Anclas. It is located a block off the sea side road, and walking distance to down town, so very calm, safe and convenience. Each room has 2nd floor, kitchenette and living room on downstairs, bedroom and bathroom on upstairs. Jordi will show you pass code of free wifi if you ask.

This place lived up to its ratings. Great spot, great rooms and couldn't have asked for a better location in Cozumel. Whatever you do - you don't want to stay too close to the water or else you'll be in tourist trap hell - and this place is far enough away from all that to be peaceful, but close enough so you can walk to the ferry or to get a taxi to any of the dive shops (or anywhere, really).

Jim - the new owner - hails from Wisconsin and is as friendly as most mid-westerners. He was very welcoming and eager to hear of any suggestions or things we noticed during our 4-day stay since he had just bought the place a few weeks prior to our arrival. He has lots of friends on the island and made great recommendations for places to eat, drink (wet wendy's!!), and dive (blue angel). Everywhere we went, people knew Jim and had great things to say about him. Apparently he's been going to Cozumel for years!

The rooms are huge (really unique 2-story villas, actually) and have a kitchenette and separate living room downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom are in a large loft upstairs. My only complaint is that the beds were painfully rock hard and the sheets paper thin. I have no doubt he'll update that though.

Anyway, highly recommended!
