Casa Colonial

Being our first trip to Cozumel, my husband and I did a lot of research about the island and where to stay. We did not want to stay at a large hotel with thousands of other people, so Casa Colonial was a perfect fit. Each villa is beautifully decorated in the colonial style, and the surrounding garden and pool are tranquil. Bob and Sarah's attention to detail does not go unnoticed.

Sarah and Teresa made sure we had everything we needed from the moment they met us at the airport to the time we left. Sarah's recommendations for diving, dining, shopping, and Mayan ruin tours were exceptional.

Situated in the middle of town, we were warmly greeted by the locals as we walked around the block to the market and around the next block to buy warm, freshly-made tortillas-another of Sarah's recommendations.

This condominium is in a very run down and seedy part of Cozumel. The amenities are very basic and the locals are somewhat creepy. The hostess did not go out of her way to provide
any sort of tips or information other than to take the money and go.
The neighborhood dogs barked from 4:00pm until 3:00am the next morning, creating many sleepless nights.(We had to use tissue in our ears). Advice - stay at the "all inclusives".

The person who wrote the review reserved all four villas so that she could renew her wedding vows. She stayed with us before and loved Casa Colonial. That is why she wanted to come back. Several people in her party cancelled on her and in turn she cancelled two villas on us. She cancelled two villas and kept two. This cancellation was during our high season and I had turned away many other people so that we could honor her reservation. When I was unable to re-lease the two villas that she cancelled in the short time I was given, she lost her non-refundable deposit as per our contract. She told me that unless I gave her a full refund she would write this review; basically blackmail.

Casa Colonial is one of Cozumels finest vacation rentals and this slanderous review is simply not an accurate representation of our establishment. If you read the other reviews you can see how out of place it really is.

Thank you for your consideration.

We had the most excellent time here - Sara and Bob took care of our every need from booking a diving trip to arranging for a massage to letting us know where to eat. The villas are beautiful, spacious and super clean. They didn't miss a trick.

We just returned from Cozumel and spent 7 nights at Casa Colonial this is a great place to stay. The villas are kept spotless, the pool is wonderful and only having to share it with people in the other 3 villas its wonderful. Christa the manager was great and was there with whatever you needed help with.

The only down falls were it was a little father back in town then I would have liked but if you were having a lazy day you could taxi to the square/waterfront for $2.00 or $3.00 US dollars.

The beds were only queen size in both rooms but seemed real small a little pet peeve of mine is to get king beds, you are on vacation why be more cramped than you are at home. We were informed that they are replacing 1 bed in each villa with a king. They should replace both all 4 villas when we were there had 2 adult couples in them - so one couple would have the comfort and the other would not.

Do not get me wrong this is a wonderful place to stay and we would stay there again in a heart beat.

My family (8 adults) just returned from our Cozumel vacation at the Casa Colonial in San Miguel, and all felt that it was the vacation of a lifetime. The Casa Colonial includes 4 separate Villas, with 2 master bedrooms each, 2 and 1/2 baths, full kitchen with appliances, swimming pool and jacuzzi, gardens, tropical trees and turtles!
This would be a vacation spot for those who do not want to go the all inclusive tourist route. It is a gated area situated in the middle of San Miguel, walking distance from the local market, wonderful little restaurants, and the ferry area with all of its tourist shopping areas.
We did have to taxi to beach and dive areas, but the cabs were reasonable and available. We had the opportunity to meet many of the people who live in Conzumel, and found them to be warm, friendly and always willing to be helpful. We felt perfectly safe walking the neighborhood, even in the late night . I would recommend Casa Colonial to anyone wanting to get a raste of the real culture of Cozumel.

we have already been home for a week now, after a wonderful vacation that we for sure will remember for the rest of our lives. It's many reasons for that but most of all because or two perfect weeks at Casa Colonial. We all felt that we came very good along with both of the owners, Sarah and Bob and got alot of good and useful information, to make the stay to be so very good for all of us. We had of course expectations before we left and talked alot about what it would be to come down to Cozumel and Casa Colonial. We all agree today that the stay was far better than we could hope. Casa Colonial itself was really fantastic and much more than we expected. When we started last fall to look for a place to spend a couple of weeks, we where hoping for a place where we could relax and charge our human batteries, far from the stress we all have in our jobs in Norway. When we now sit back and memorize the stay, we have all got energy to get through the Scandinavian winter, until the spring is coming here. We made a lot of video film and pictures while we was at Cozumel and we have already arranged a small party where we have watched it, together with mexican beer (unfortinately just Sol), Tequila, spicy pickles brought from the local supermarket in Cozumel and a lot of laughs and good memories.
