My wife and I have waited years to finally be able to see the whale sharks that migrate to the Mexican waters. We decided to book the Cessna 206 plane from Cozumel to Cancun to meet up with a boat tour that would bring us to the whale sharks. This saved an enormous amount of time instead of taking the ferry and bus to the boat. Plus it is a fantastic experience to have a private plane just for you and one other couple! The email communication leading up to the trip was outstanding and they were very accommodating to both our schedule and the weather conditions. They wanted to make absolute sure that conditions were perfect. From the boat dock outside of Cancun to the whale sharks is about an hour long. We brought our own gear and wetsuits to avoid having to wear life jackets while chasing the whale sharks. The boat captain and the tour guide were very excited to be there with us and help us get the most out of seeing these awesome creatures! The post whale shark swim good and drinks wading in the Isla Mujeres waters were absolutely great!

The price was right and the staff amazing. On a Royal Caribbean cruise in August, we had a scheduled stop in Cozumel, Mexico. I simply couldn't let the opportunity of being this close to one of the New 7 Wonders pass by. After a lot of research, we booked a day trip through This Is Cozumel and their tour partner, Duende Tours.

This Is Cozumel handled everything for us, including the booking, how to make the deposit, everything. They arranged the date and time and stayed on top of it, and were there for us on a critical reschedule. I would trust them with any future tour, and seeing as how we intend to visit Cozumel again next year, almost certainly will. Great site, great service, great great great.

This Is Cozumel set us up for a whale shark tour with a local company. The company they teamed with was awful. They were 40 minutes late for pickup and very disorganized. They fail to mention that after the ferry ride to Playa, you take an hour (depending on the cab drivers mood) cab ride to the dock where you register. This registration process takes about 2 hours. Even though the pamphlet says you can wear biodegradable sunblock, the tour company will not let you put it on as you sit in the sun waiting for 2 hours for them to get their act together. They have no shade available...just bananas and water. They also fail to mention the boat ride to see the whale sharks is a solid 1.5 hours. Wetsuit rental was $25. You get to see the whale sharks for a couple minutes, then 1.5 hours back to the dock, 30 minutes waiting for a cab, another hour cab ride back to Playa, and a 40 minute ferry ride back to Cozumel. You spend 6 hours of this tour on a boat or in a cab, and another 2 hours in the sun with no shade and no sunblock.

The whole process, from booking, paying, and meeting driver was beyond easy. We met our driver Alex at the exact location (directions to find him were very specific) and we were greeted with a great smile and AC sedan. Alex helped us pick spots we had researched and some we didn't know. The trip around the island was amazing.

We stopped by Cozumel as one of the ports on our cruise. I read tons of great things to do around the area so finding activities wasn't hard. However, we were hoping to get away from the touristy crowds and have some fun action!

We rented the dune buggies, which was a new experience for me not having any power steering. It was a bumpy/dirty ride as expected so make sure to bring a pair of sunglasses! It was really fun being able to ride around the city as we made our way down to the caves. They gave us the opportunity to jump in from some medium-sized cliffs into the caves if we wanted to. I wasn't expected this opportunity so I wasn't dressed for the occasion, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I jokingly told our guide that I would jump in if he did not expecting him to. Next thing you know, he's taking his shirt off and we both jumped into the nice, cool water!

When we came back, we were given the option for a tequila tasting tour as well. Obviously they are trying to promote their brand of tequila, but it was a great way to top off a fun day with a few shots of good tasting tequila -- and I am a scotch/whiskey kind of guy.

I couldn't have asked for a better excursion experience. It was personal, action-packed, and definitely something to check off my bucket list. Thank you to This is Cozumel for contributing to our unforgettable experience in your beautiful country! You guys are great at what you do and wish you nothing but the best! Thanks again!
